Just over a month ago we all watched in horror and disgust as white supremacists, Nazis and hate groups rallied in Charlottesville. Words cant describe the anger we all felt as we heard about the senseless killing of Heather Heyer and the injuries others suffered at the hands of these bigots.
What did my opponent, Dana Rohrabacher do? He called it a hoax and claimed it was orchestrated by Democrats.
Since the beginning of Donald Trump's campaign we've seen these groups come out of the shadows. They know the President is their ally which has emboldened their disgusting behavior.
But, since 1939 Americans have been resolute - Nazis are not welcome here. After the rally in Charlottesville we heard that these same groups planned to hold a rally in my hometown of Laguna Beach. Our campaign responded by organizing a unity rally they day before.
Our message was clear. Nazis are not welcome in Charlottesville or Laguna Beach. And Nazis are sure not welcome in the White House.
It should be no surprise that my opponent, Dana Rohrabacher, doesn't agree. Congressman Rohrabacher, known as "Putin's Favorite Congressman", spouts a lot of conspiracy theories and has shown more interest in representing Julian Assange than the people of the 48th district.
His unAmerican words and actions make me sick.
