Donald Trump continues to embarrass the United States, both at home and abroad. Ahead of his visit to the United Kingdom, the song “American Idiot” by Green Day shot up the charts to #1 this week, some 16 years after its debut. Watching this video, it is easy to see why. Here’s Donald Trump claiming (projecting) that Germany is controlled by Russia because of a pipeline and saying NATO member nations need to pay more.
“Germany, as far as I’m concerned, is captive to Russia because it’s getting so much of its energy from Russia,” Trump told NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, in a fiery on-camera exchange that was among the harshest in the history of the post-World War II alliance.
White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, who has reportedly called Trump "an idiot," began physically fidgeting and looking like he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Watch everyone in this video while Trump embarrassingly knocks Germany.
Trump continues to alienate our staunchest allies and appears to be trying to destabilize the EU. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was not happy and she shot back, reminding Donald Trump that she herself grew up in Soviet-controlled Germany. From the Washington Post:
“I myself experienced that a part of Germany that was controlled by the Soviet Union, and I am very happy today that we are united in freedom as the Federal Republic of Germany,” Merkel told reporters as she entered NATO. “We decide our own policies and make our own decisions.”
