Good morning!
CUA will now be posted only on Sunday mornings at 7:30 AM Pacific/8:30 AM Mountain/9:30 AM Central/10:30 AM Eastern.
Chris Reeves, Daily Kos Community Outreach Organizer, has been on the job almost a year now. He and I have decided that we’d like to move forward with CUA in helping readers connect with their local political groups, such as: The Poor People's Campaign, NAACP, Neighbors on Call, Indivisible and Progressives State Network, for example. Our reporting will be to give advance publicity to these groups' events, protests and actions. And then follow up with coverage of the events.
We’re hoping this will inspire new commenters to report their future events in the comments and also a place for readers’s coverage of their local actions. CUA will be a place for more focused content and comment interaction about getting boots on the ground all around the nation.
CUA Groups will still go on and we need organizers to motivate our readers to get involved locally. But what we’d like to hear about is the political work you plan to do that week and actually participate in in your city.
Thank you so much to all the regulars who kept us company the past six years every day. We hope we don’t lose your recommendation of the CUA series. And please let us know what you are doing locally in our comments.
If you need a Monday-Thursday morning coffee-klatch please visit Cheers & Jeers. The site also has many other daily Open Threads for your participation, such as Kitchen Table Kibitzing, Top Comments, Night Owls and the Overnight News Digest. Also visit the Saturday Morning blogging diaries.
See you next Sunday!
