I remember exactly where I was when I first heard the Beatles music. John Lennon of course brought this country to it`s knees with songs that still ring loud and clear today. My favorite of all time is “Imagine”. His piano playing was also touching when playing this particular song.
But then things change, not only for folks like the Beatles as the world continues to roll forward. The media in the 60`s during their best times would never write negative things about them. But the years went by and John Lennon`s son, now full grown man, has now come forward to tell about his own views of his dad.
Pictured here is John Lennon and his son Julian Lennon. Julian was John’s son with his first wife, Cynthia. After his father ran off with Yoko and had another child, Julian’s relationship with his father quickly diminished.
Now fully grown, Julian speaks freely about his feelings for Lennon,
"I have to say that, from my point of view, I felt he was a hypocrite. Dad could talk about peace and love out loud to the world but he could never show it to the people who supposedly meant the most to him: his wife and son. How can you talk about peace and love and have a family in bits and pieces - no communication, adultery, divorce? You can't-do it, not if you're being true and honest with yourself."
I understand it`s not polite to say things good or bad about the dead. Here I merely wanted to write on a topic that is very different from the political garbage of these past few days. Besides John Lennon`s music will remain in my memory for as long as I hang out among the living.
