The ramifications of Trump dispariging Christianity is one of the many stories that gets quickly buried by the never ending onslaught of King Trump's abuses. According to a very perceptive Salon article, Michael Cohen says: “Trump mocks Christians, calls them "fools" and "schmucks”…. and lots more.
In case you don't speak Yiddish “schmuck" means: jerk, a person who is unlikable, detestable, or contemptible because he or she is stupid, foolish, clumsy, oafish, inept, malicious, or unpleasant. ▼ Synonyms: twerp, twit, dope, dick, dork, prick, putz.
You get the idea. Usually a believer in a greater power doesn't call Christianity “bullshit" like King Trump did. You might not agree with a particular faith, but vehemently dispariging it and calling it's followers “schmucks and fools" is not indicative of believing in God, religion or spirituality.
But millions of Trump’s most ardent supporters are hardline Christian Evangelicals. Would it make any difference to them if King Trump was caught on tape disparaging them and their precious religious faith? So far nothing he has said or done has changed their minds. How ironic!
I was raised in a particular faith and I even considered becoming a member of the clergy. If anyone attacked my religion, spirituality or God I would take it quite personally. I would be offended and I wouldn't forget that person's hubris and insensitivity any time soon.
But Trump gets a free pass by millions of practicing Christians. I am so puzzled by this phenomenon. Trump is the polar opposite of everything Jesus taught.
The Sermon of the Mount summarizes the teachings of Jesus. There's not one single thing that is in common with King Trump! It's time Trump's Christian supporters wake the hell up!

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matt. 5:1-12)
