*Kicks down door* WHO WANTS SOME GOOD NEWS?
Yep, its Monday again, time for the Monday Good news roundup, where I, your humble social justice bard, delivers the hit news pieces that will keep you from hitting your head against the wall in the current shit show of the Trump administration (Which, fingers crossed, may be coming to an end sooner rather than later).
So without further ado, lets get on with it.
Twitter has once again flagged a tweet by US President Donald Trump which they said had ‘encouraged people to potentially vote twice’.
The social media site has put a warning before the president’s tweet which had called North Carolina voters to send on a mail-in ballot and then go to the polls and vote again if the vote was allegedly not counted.
Yeah even Twitter isn’t putting up with Trumps shit anymore, and Twitter is just the worst.
Post reporters Michael Scherer and Josh Dawsey explain:
Republican officials have been inundated with calls from worried activists and donors who complain about constant Biden ads in their local media markets, with very few paid Trump responses, according to people familiar with the conversations. Some Republicans close to Trump have been baffled at the decision to sharply curb advertising and have told the president he should change course.
Wow its almost like Trump has no idea what he’s doing or something. That couldn’t be it though.
Billionaire and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has set his sights on Florida as he attempts to help push the Democratic presidential nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden, into the Oval Office, The Washington Post reports.
Bloomberg plans to spend at least $100 million campaigning for Biden in Florida, though his advisers refused to say if the total dollar figure would actually be higher, acknowledging only that it's a "nine figure" plan.
Looks like Bloomberg is keeping good to his word and helping to get Trump out of office with his money. Good for him.
Trump campaign adviser Steve Cortes on Sunday downplayed the revelations that President Donald Trump misled the American people about the severity of novel coronavirus pandemic.
In an interview with Fox News, Cortes argued that Trump made the admission to journalist Bob Woodward in the "fog of war."
"Why not level with the American people, Steve?" Fox News host Chris Wallace asked.
"This was the fog of war, biological war," Cortes insisted.
"I'm going to interrupt you right there," Wallace interjected. "It wasn't the fog of war. On January 28, the president got his presidential daily brief, the top intelligence in the Oval Office. And at that point, his national security adviser, Robert O'Brien said that this is the biggest challenge you're going to face in your entire presidency."
"So there was no fog of war there," the Fox News host added. "The word that he was getting from his top intelligence and national security people was that this was a deadly pandemic. There was no fog here."
Fog of War…. you’re not playing League of Legends you jackass you’re running a country.
More than 190,000 American’s have died from the coronavirus, and Trump’s former advisor believes that this new information may cost him the election.
“It is striking how clear he is on these tapes to Woodward of his appreciation for how dangerous the coronavirus was compared to what he was saying publicly at the time,” said Bolton. “And that coming out of his own mouth, I think this could be nearly the point where the campaign ends.”
Trump responded to the reports on Twitter, writing, “Bob Woodward had my quotes for many months. If he thought they were so bad or dangerous, why didn’t he immediately report them in an effort to save lives?”
Is this in fact be the nail in the coffin for Trump? I really hope so.
Anyway, that’s our good news for this week, have a good week, stay strong, stay motivated, stay hopeful. We can do this.
