MN-GOP: Fight! Fight! Fight!

Mon Mar 07, 2005 at 07:47:50 PM PDT

The MN GOP has some good in-house sparks flying this week:

So says former GOP Sen. Rod Grams after the MN Governor Tim Pawlenty joined the chorus to quickly coronate Rep. Mark Kennedy as the GOP nominee for the Senate seat being vacated by Mark Dayton. MN Sen. Norm Coleman had endorsed Kennedy almost immediately, too.

One year before a single caucus is held, delegate is chosen, or vote is cast.

Grams declared he's running, so he's not happy with all the insider games, and even says "that party officials have not responded to his request for lists of delegates and activists, and aren't returning his phone calls."

Add to this an upcoming interview with former MN Sen. Dave Durenberger (R) due this Wednesday, where he apparently doesn't mince words about his party or the its President:

I don't think the man [George W. Bush] believes that he's capable of making a mistake. Even though he's made them in his personal life and acknowledged them in his personal life. When I say that to somebody, they say, "Well, you know the way the system works in America is that you say you made a mistake and the other side is all over you." My answer to that is, "That's America. That is representative democracy." Because at some point, if you don't acknowledge mistakes, they're gonna come back and haunt you. I mean, that's just history. I'm not saying it'll happen on Bush's watch, [but] it will come back to haunt us.
