As I look at the Bush commercials, I noticed a stiking parallel with the prescription drug ads that are run for the major blockbuster drugs such as Celebrex, etc.
The ads are a montage of upbeat scenes from small town life - normal daily life made possible by Bush, if only you will reelect him (or if only you'll get your doctor to prescribe drug X, etc.)
Look at the ads with the sound turned off and it's even more apparent - postcards from Bush America.
Against a backdrop of unrelenting war and ceaseless terrorism, these scenes are comforting and evocative - their intended goal. They intend to pacify and soothe. They medicate.
I'm George Bush and I approve this drug.
