I've already HAD IT with this site
Wed Jul 02, 2008 at 07:27:54 PM PDT
I've been here a little more than a month. I came here against the better advice of my big brother, who I always saw as a drama queen always looking at the glass half empty. When he left to live in Italy, I decided to sign up for an account here and prove to my brother that DailyKos wasn't a bad place.
I came here with the belief that there was almost no one further to the left than me. My away message most nights is Paul Wellstone's line "I'm from the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party." In the wake of the flap over FISA and faith-based initiatives, I began to realize, actually, I may be a little further right than like everyone here.
Compared to most people at DailyKos...I'm a Republican.
I thought this site was about electing democrats?
Wed Jul 02, 2008 at 05:34:19 AM PDT
Apparently not.
Well I am peon here who doesn't amount to a hill of beans in the world of orange so I won't be missed, and where I travel on the internet won't make a bit of difference in the scheme of things.
So be it. I would rather be where folks care about electing democrats.
Win some. Lose some.
President Obama will be president to all of the people and he won't be perfect and he won't be a leftie and he won't always do what i want. But he will throw those dirty lousy republicans and their filthy self-centered policies out of office.
It will be a new day, a new beginning with a whole lot of f'ing hope.
I thought that this site was about electing democrats. Apparently. Not.
I am outa here.
Censorship: A Story for Big Boys and Girls
Tue Jul 01, 2008 at 07:08:57 AM PDT
Some of you wanted to know what I meant when I wrote something yesterday, but that something disappeared from this site. Here's my explanation.
Disagreeing Without Being Disagreeable (Sadly Updated X3, I'm Out of Here)
Sun Jun 29, 2008 at 02:12:35 PM PDT
Update: Since I am leaving, and since people don't understand, for those of you who are interested in learning more about an ostomy, here is a link to something I wrote for my blog, which describes how an ostomy functions, and has pictures of an ostomy. I'll return when I am certain that people think it's not OK to make fun of people with disabilities here. At the moment, it appears that many, many people are fine and dandy with making fun of people with disabilities. I choose not to subject myself to that.
I generally hate meta diaries, and think they're a waste of time, but it's getting so ridiculous that I need to speak up. So I wrote a diary of my own opinions yesterday. It made the rec list. And I was exposed to jealously that led to brutal personal attacks, which reflect poorly on all of us.
Obama & FISA? I'm so over Obama!
Wed Jun 25, 2008 at 06:45:45 PM PDT
Obama not only lied to me to my face--saying he would filibuster telecom amnesty--but in only the last week he has COMPLETELY trashed his credibility and his self-applied label as a "new politician".
Its time we started seeing other people...
Sat Jun 21, 2008 at 12:37:54 PM PDT
Our Congress has done what deliberative bodies do..they compromised. This time on FISA. Another day it will be something else dear to our hearts and yet another day something dear to the hearts of conservatives. It is the way government gets done.
But the realization that the current Congress is not a Progressive Majority has come to many here as a profound shock. The rage here is off the charts: the declarations to oppose Obama, the betrayal, the raising of FISA to a level beyond the many more profound atrocities of this administration.
I think it is time for us to see other people. Visit other sites. Go out into the world. Mostly to stop filling my time with negativity, worry and complaining that our Democratic friends are just as bad as our Republican adversaries.
One Thing I Still Like About DKos.
Sat Jun 21, 2008 at 09:20:11 AM PDT
With the FISA "compromise" hitting the news, there has been a predictable blizzard of GBCW, GBCW-lite and other hand-wringing diaries. Some of them have been thoughtful. Some of them have been hysterical. Others were less so.
But even with all this spleen venting and ranting, there's still at one thing I like about DKos.
GBCW We're all fucked, so fuck all y'all. I'm out.
Fri Jun 20, 2008 at 04:57:53 PM PDT
I have been kicked off of this site more than anyone in history. I've blogged here under the name of the ratprick, the Ghost of Frank Zappa, Johnny Double Adams, and other names too numerous to mention. I've been here since before the 2004 election virtually every day. Until today.
It ain't the community. I do think Elise is a total douche for her comments of 7/25/07 in which she licks Nancy Pelosi's buttcrack. But, she's a fucking lightweight.
Eternal Hope has been my nemesis, though I admire him or her.
kos is cool. Hunter is the voice I wish I had. By far the best writer here. Maybe even the voice of a generation.
There are many others that I adore. As I said it's not the community.
We're fucked people. This country ain't coming back. Both houses of congress, the executive and the Supreme Court are absolutely fucking rotten to the core. Rotten to the core. Corrupt beyond redemption. All of them. Obama included.
So, I have completely lost my stomach for politics. This ends it for me.
ta ta...... I'm gonna let the door hit me where the Good Lord split me.
Fuck All Y'all.
Kos and Kossacks: Always Stay The Outsiders
Wed Jun 18, 2008 at 07:23:08 AM PDT
Well, this is my last diary at DKos, at least for a good while, and judging by the comments to my recent diaries that will be cause for rejoicing by many. I can't promise I'll never be back, because this site has become, at least for me, the very center of the new liberal movement.
I posted two diaries over the weekend relating to Tim Russert, diaries I subsequently deleted at the request of various commenters and after the diaries elicited an avalanche of epithets, invective and personal abuse the likes of which I'd never seen at this site. But here are the google cached versions:

This Will Kill Daily Kos!
Mon Jun 16, 2008 at 06:44:32 AM PDT
I've avoided all of the Russert diaries, pro, con, and in between, this weekend -- until this morning, when I read the two diaries currently on the Rec List asking Kossacks to cool it on criticizing Russert for a while.
I can see the diarists' point. I can also see the point of those who would like to engage in a clear-eyed discussion of the man before the hagiography (or the vitriol) becomes the accepted biography. Unfortunately, those people mainly seem to be talking past each other, rather than to each other -- probably because to truly engage each other would risk having to admit not being 100% in the right (oh noes!).
There are a few people who are thinking that all this foofaraw will hurt, perhaps even destroy, Daily Kos. I doubt this: DKos has had eruptions like this all the time. Follow me past the jump for more.
Adieu, Au revoir, Bonne nuit.

I guess the time has come to come clean, I am Jean Lafitte. While this may come as shock to you today, in the near future it will not be that surprising. There are others out there, which calls into question where is here.
Here is the metasphere, as we sailors of the virtual seas call it. It is a space created by the imagination of humanity made real by a shared hallucination called the Internet. One of the most exciting side effects, if one is dead, is how our psychic waves can be tuned into creations of mankind and we are made real again, even if for a limited amount of time.
I am not a ghost, but something entirely different. Let me try and explain.
Enough with the Welcome Back to Cruel World Diaries
Sun Jun 08, 2008 at 12:01:26 PM PDT
We have all seen the GBCW diaries. Now we have WBCW Diaries flooding DKos.
Blogger gets his/her sensibilities offended. Complains about sexism/racism/whatever-it-ism. Writes long incomprehensible rant. Leaves to a lesser rival blog or (in the worst cases) starts a new one. Freed from the bonds of community, blogger goes wild. A small number of dead-enders follow on. The new twist is that an even smaller number of former fans of departed blogger start agitating to invite him/her back. As if he/she cannot return on his/her own time. An engraved invitation with the blogger's name spelled out all fonty is needed?
The term "deranged narcissism" comes to mind. It no longer applies to Sen. Clinton herself. After a couple of days of mourning and confusion, Sen. Clinton came out with a remarkable, ringing endorsement of Obama. Surely she has more invested in her candidacy than any of her supporters? Like many world class politicians, Sen. Clinton is able to pick up the pieces after a narrow defeat and recognize that her role is now to be the most visible surrogate for the Democratic nominee.
You've convinced me..
Fri Jun 06, 2008 at 06:07:05 AM PDT
For over twenty years, I have identified myself as a Democrat.
For over twenty years, I don't think I've ever voted for anyone who wasn't a Democrat except in primaries after the Dem nominee was selected OR in races where there were no Dems running.
Thank you DailyKos.. you've convinced me that this Democrat... this former Democrat... is an Independent now.
GBCW from a Troll
Wed Jun 04, 2008 at 08:40:31 AM PDT
I thought I would amuse myself (and you) with a goodbye diary.
I will be out of the country for a couple of months on business, so I will be unable to insert myself into your discussions.
Let me introduce myself. I am a troll. I have been on DKos for about a half a year. I started right before the primaries began.
Эй все, что вам Kossacks!

И вы кучу Сисси суки.
I Am Changing To Independent Today
Fri May 23, 2008 at 07:33:22 AM PDT
So, after due consideration of whether I can support the Democratic Party any more, I have decided that I cannot. It has nothing to do with my views changing on many things. But it does have to do with its candidates.
GBCW (of sorts)
Thu May 22, 2008 at 10:35:05 AM PDT
When I first came to Dailykos about a year and a half ago I was searching. I was looking for a home for my personal ideology. I had considered myself a moderate, not a liberal and certainly not a conservative. So at first I looked around for a blog site that was focused on what I believed at the time was moderate ideology.
My one and only diary here
Mon May 19, 2008 at 02:52:37 PM PDT
As most of you know I am neither a progressive nor a Democrat. I am a Conservative Republican. I've enjoyed my brief stay here chatting with many of you. I've not agreed with your points but I do appreciate the civil behavior we've managed to share and I have learned from you. I hope that in some way you have learned from me as well.
