SPOOKY and SPECTRE are returning to Iraq
Sat Mar 04, 2006 at 09:14:07 AM PDT
In yet another reminder of the ominous reality of the growing brutality of the War in Iraq , and Bush administration's `Peace and Freedom on the March' approach to "solving" it, the Associated Press is now reporting that the US military is secretly bringing back the extremely deadly, heavily armed slow flying "Spooky" and
"Spectre" C130U gunships to Iraq. The last time the US press had reported that Spooky gunships were being used in Iraq was in the November 2004 Siege of Fallujah, during which the majority of that city was destroyed.

1200 Drowned at Marion Abramson School, Read Blvd, N.O.?
Tue Sep 06, 2005 at 07:01:21 PM PDT
Sorry for this hasty diary, but I wanted to get it out.
This rumor has just been reported by the British paper the Guardian:
One French journalist from the daily newspaper Libération was given precise information that 1,200 people had drowned at Marion Abramson school on 5552 Read Boulevard. Nobody at the Federal Emergency Management Agency or the New Orleans police force has been able to verify that.
But then Fema could not confirm there were thousands of people at the convention centre until they were told by the press for the simple reason that they did not know.
"Katrina's winds have left behind an information vacuum. And that vacuum has been filled by rumour.
"There is nothing to correct wild reports that armed gangs have taken over the convention centre," wrote Associated Press writer, Allen Breed.
Has Bush gone off his meds, or off the wagon?
Thu Aug 25, 2005 at 01:59:07 PM PDT
Here is a story concerning George Bush's recent behavior while on vacation, It is written by Doug Thompson of Capital Hill Blue, who has been a harsh critic of Bush in the past. The statements allegedly made by Bush recently were related by unnamed WH aides and journalists.
For what it is worth, here it is. You be the judge.

Brazilian killed by UK agents wore NO bulky coat, did NOT jump turnstile, had LEGAL visa

Nearly every detail UK Gvmt gave initially about killing of innocent Brazilian were
untruthful.
Contrary to earlier media statements, it dribbled out today that Jean Charles de Menezes was not wearing a bulky padded coat, and did not jump the turnstile, and was legal in his visa status, according to a story in today's Guardian:
Antiwar.com reacts to DHinMI s `Antiwar.com is anti-Semitic and illegitimate` charges.
Tue Jul 19, 2005 at 12:27:36 PM PDT
Some of you may be aware that veteran, regular Dkos contributor
DHinMI has been making rather harsh statements on DKos lately about Justin Raimondo and his generally well-regarded site,
Antiwar.com. In comments and diaries, DHinMI has been claiming Antiwar.com to be a
hard right, anti-Semitic website, and an
illegitimate news and commentary source. Furthermore DHinMI has repeatedly accused the site's owner, Raimondo, and by extension, most of the commentators who post on Antiwar.com, as being anti-Semites, "buchananites" and mass-murderer/Milosevic-lovers, in so many words.
Was it suicide?
Sat Jul 16, 2005 at 06:41:18 PM PDT
If you have flipped through Fox News or most of the other US cable news channels, NPR or even CSPAN in the last few days to hear the latest news and analysis on the
London terrorist bombings, you will have heard a pretty much uniform message coming from a procession of Islamic and middle east terrorism experts, consultants and pundits, like William Krystol,
Stephen Schwartz ,
Steve Emerson,
Daniel Gour'e, as well as several other authoritative terrorism book writers and think tankers. The message is that the London bombings are the latest strike by the world-wide Al-Qaeda Conspiracy and are in character with past Al Qaeda/spin-off attacks. They are, with little doubt, fanatical suicide bombing carried out by young, religion steeped Islamic extremists, say our cable TV experts and consultants.
Italy orders Arrest of 13 CIA Agents for Rendition and Torture of Italian resident
Fri Jun 24, 2005 at 03:10:20 PM PDT
What is it about Friday afternoons? It seems all the bad news for Bush comes out just before the weekend.
Italy Judge Orders Arrest of 13 CIA Agents
An Italian judge on Friday ordered the arrests of 13 CIA officers for secretly transporting a Muslim preacher from Italy to Egypt as part of U.S. anti-terrorism efforts -- a rare public objection to the practice by a close American ally.
The Egyptian was spirited away in 2003, purportedly as part of the CIA's "extraordinary rendition" program in which terror suspects are transferred to third countries without court approval, subjecting them to possible torture.
...
The 13 are accused of seizing Osama Moustafa Hassan Nasr, known as Abu Omar, on a Milan street on Feb. 17, 2003, and sending him to Egypt, where he reportedly was tortured, Milan prosecutor Manlio Claudio Minale said in a statement.
The U.S. Embassy in Rome and the CIA in Washington declined to comment.
Bush is Privatizing War: 120K Contractors and Mercs now in Iraq
Tue Jun 21, 2005 at 04:43:10 PM PDT
Bottom Line: About one-half of the total US paid and directed combat zone personnel in Iraq are private contractors and mercenaries, according to a recent Frontline report. This privatized half of US forces are "off the books" in terms of casualty reports and publicly transparent financial accounting. Iraq War privitization allows Bush to conceal from Americans the true war costs, and the full scope of US casualties. Bush's privatization of the Iraq War has a number of additional harmful consequences on the US Military.
A very interesting review, Facing down privatization of war of a recent PBS Frontline TV report * ''Private Warriors"*,
appeared today in the Boston Globe.
I have not seen the Frontline report itself yet. Neither the report nor the TV review have seemed to have been diaried yet when I just searched under the above titles.
Peak Oil? Yeah, RIIIGHT!
Tue Mar 15, 2005 at 05:04:39 PM PDT
What would you say if someone told you that 100 miles off the East and Gulf coasts of the continental United States lying quietly on the bottom in ~800 ft deep water was
64 times more
clean natural gas as the entire proven
planetary natural gas reserves?
How can this be? We are constantly being told that we are running out of easily accessible energy in this country, and that is why we must get it from unstable countries and dictatorships half way around the planet, or tear up the fragile arctic areas.
That is the Bushco-BigOil PEAK OIL Story being told to the public.
What they are not talking about is something called methane (natural gas) hydrates.
Bushco and Big Oil never have never explained to you about methane (natural gas) hydrates?
Never heard of the stuff? See this to find out about Methane Hydrate
Was George Bush Right?
Tue Mar 15, 2005 at 07:35:51 AM PDT
Harry Browne
examines this question : Does the recent dissemination of the message:
Was George Bush right?, across a broad swath of both right and left media, reflect the true/sincere belief of the persons repeating it?
Oris just the latest cynical PR spin being distributed by the Bushco media marketing team to American 'consumers'?
Following a recent Jeff Jacoby Op/Ed piece The Arab Spring, in the Boston Globe, which stated:
...
Der Spiegel: "Could George W. be right?" And Guy Sorman in France's
Le Figaro: "And if Bush was right?"
And NPR's Daniel Schor in The Christian Science Monitor: "The Iraq effect? Bush may have had it right." And London's Independent, in a Page 1 headline on Monday: "Was Bush right after all?"
Even Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central's Daily Show and an indefatigable Bush critic, has learned the new lyrics. "Here's the great fear that I have," he said recently. "What if Bush . . . has been right about this all along? I feel like my world view will not sustain itself and I may . . . implode."

430 Archived Gannon Talon News Stories
Fri Feb 25, 2005 at 08:44:26 AM PDT
from the
MensDailyNews.com site.
[if someone else has already put this up, please let me know. I have not seen it before now]
Wow. I have only scanned a few of the 'Gannon Talon pieces' so far, but a few things seem to really jump out at one:
- IThe "Gannon/Talon" stuff is major league hogwash Bushco propaganda, but it is well written hogwash. It is probably ghostwritten by a crew of real wordsmiths in actual fact and not by Gannon/Guckert at all, is my guess.
- Judging from the output level, and the contrast to the lack of skill and low quality, characteristic of Guckert's earlier independent website enterprises, the writing very likely cannot be G/G's.
- In nearly all of the Talon output, Gannon's name is the only byline. No one shares authorship with Gannon on these pieces, in spite of the fact that the content is put out by a very well organized operation.

Summary: Award-winning Israel-Palestine peace activist and journalist Alison Weir presents a case that George Bush's recent displeasure with the Russian government has
more to do with Putin's largely successful power struggle with the Russian business and energy oligarchs and crony-capitalists, who took over much of Russia's national industries and resources after the collapse of the Soviet State. Bush's stated concerns over civil rights, democracy and military collateral damage in Chechnya,
may not be the primary motivation behind the US ratcheting up tensions toward Putin's Russia recently.
There have been quite a few recent stories available to the US public through the western media, relating President George W. Bush's deepening concern , with what Bush administration spokespersons and allies describe as Russian President Vladimir Putin's turn toward "anti-democratic" behavior, and "civil rights violations".
