I need to get something off my chest and my first diary appears to be the place to do it.  Armando had a reasoned post called "In Opposition" which references a Yglesias post at Tapped.

The gist of it is that Yglesias says that compromise is bad and Armando says that the filibuster needs to saved for Judicial nominees, specifically SCOTUS.

They are both right and wrong.  Specifically, the filibuster is one of the few effective tools left to the Democrats.  The biggest problem we have now is the fear of using it causing us to lose it.
