My photos & Video from the Historic Obama Rally in Philly

Sat Apr 19, 2008 at 01:30:08 PM PDT

I was at the Obama rally on Friday in Philly and I want to share my experience with you. I got there at 5pm and the crowds were already huge. It took me about 2 hours to wait in line and get through security. It was well worth the wait.

Digging Deeper into the new DEEPTHROAT

Wed Aug 01, 2007 at 07:49:50 AM PDT

I am aware that there is already a diary dealing with the mystery poster on the Rec list. I thought the current diary only began to scratched the surface, so I wanted to provide this as an archive of sorts of all of the comments being made by this person, as it can be quite time consuming to sort them out.

This is a long diary so sorry for that. Before you get to the end please give this a rec. if you want more to see this, since it will take a while to read.

Lets start of with a quote from out mystery poster:

Remember, this information is open. Anyone can do this. The key is to notice the leverage We the People have on Congress, the President, and US government.

and

Do what you have to do. The problem is simple: The clues are emerging; the issue is whether people want to see them, then dig. The answer are not hidden, they are not as deep as you might think. One thing surfacing in one area, sheds light on what else is happening in other areas. Take the larger perspective.

Well said. Lets take the jump...

Turn up the heat - NYT: Election officials getting 'cold feet' on electronic voting

Sat Sep 23, 2006 at 12:30:48 PM PDT

We don't live in a Democracy if we are unable to guarentee our votes are counted.

From Raw Story:

"A growing number of state and local officials are getting cold feet about electronic voting technology, and many are making last-minute efforts to limit or reverse the rollout of new machines in the November elections," reports Ian Urbina.

Now is the time to push this one hard. Let's turn those "cold feet" into action.

Mining Google for data

Sun Jun 18, 2006 at 11:27:15 AM PDT

Bloggers have long used Google, and its various facets, to gather information. Despite Roves wishes, it is the Democrats who are taking advantage of the Internet, not Republicans. I mean who needs Google, or Blogging, when you have the NSA?

But I digress. I figured I would do some data mining of my own. Google offers many tools to the savvy sleuth who seeks the truth, but the tool I will explore today is Google Trends. With this new tool we can see what the world is searching for. This peek into what is on the minds of every day folks can be very telling.  Type a word into the box and Google Trends shows you, in chart form, the search levels for that term for the last 2 years. Type 2 words separated by a comma and you get a comparison chart.

Thusly:

Now that you have a handle on the possibilities lets jump right in....

Rumsfeld, Bush, Rice, ALL Liars!

Thu May 04, 2006 at 04:50:54 PM PDT

So a man asks Rummy a tough question and is labeled a protester. Funny. All I saw was a well dressed man ask a tough question. No T-shirt with a slaogan, no shouting, no banners, nothing is thrown, just an American citizen asking for truth. For simply daring to ask he is labeled as a protester. This got me thinking about lies. There is no doubt (in my mind) that Rumsfeld knew before the war that he was lying to the world. Anyone who has read up on the PNAC knows that they were simply taking advantage of the "pearl harbor type event" to expidite their plans. Of course to make it work they all had to lie.

New Poll: 47% want Dem. control of congress!

Fri Feb 10, 2006 at 11:11:02 AM PDT

Bush seems unable to move his approval ratings. They remain at an all time low despite huge efforts to gain some traction. Some of the American people are waking up to the fact that we can do better. Even Republicans must see that their party can do better.

False Outrage. Real Hope.

Wed Feb 08, 2006 at 12:01:39 PM PDT

(There are photographic Illustrations depicting the sorrows of war. I created them because I feel that it is important to show the consequences of Bush's reckless foreign policy.)

I am tired of Republicans and their false outrage. They are outraged that a man like Martin Luther King, who lead a life speaking out for what is right, should be celebrated by speaking out. They are outraged that bubble boy Bush had to witness what people really think of him. They are outraged at the public support against Bush that grows stronger with each new day. Where was the outrage when King was shot? Where was the outrage when Blacks were unable to vote? Are Republicans that eager to be seen by the world as the racists they are? The audacity of the GOP to claim that the heartfelt words that were loudly spoken at the King funeral showed a lack of respect is ridiculous. The people stood up and cheered! They shouted out in agreement and joy that truth was being spoken in a loud voice. This is the real reason for the false outrage. We are standing up and speaking out. We are daring to spread hope.

Bush hiding impact of his budget

Tue Feb 07, 2006 at 10:28:26 AM PDT

Bush is once again not being straight with the American people. From Raw Story we learn that Bush is hiding from the public, the impact that his budget will have on the defecit. In breaking with tradition he is omiting a section of the budget that would usualy deal with how the budget effects the countries deficit.

Of course he knows that his budget does more harm than good, je knows that Republicans are supposed to spend less. He knows that his budget is destroying the middle class. he knows that he has managed to convince middle America to vote AGAINST their own interests. He needs to keep from the public eye any information that would shed light on how his budget will effect this country.

Update: Schwarzenegger's Petitioners Illegal Tactics in News

Sat Jun 11, 2005 at 01:27:24 PM PDT

I'm happy to say that the Contra Costa Times and the Monterey Valley Herald reported on the evidence we submitted to the Secretary of State's office detailing Gov. Schwarzenegger's petitioners election law violations and our call for an investigation. We are optimistic that an investigation will be called for, and if it does, there is no telling what will come out regarding what kind of men would physically intimidate and verbally abuse female teachers and completely misrepresent the content of the initiatives designed to attack their professions. The fact they were getting paid up to $5.50 per signature, compared to the usual $1 - $1.50, only adds to the travesty.

The full text of the article is below. You can be sure I'll be keeping everybody up to speed on how this story progresses being that the Governor is on the verge of calling for a "special election" based on his touting of how many signatures were gathered by these men, who used these tactics and misrepresentations to do so.

Women Accosted by Schwarzenegger's Petitioners Request Investigation

Thu Jun 09, 2005 at 05:15:31 PM PDT

Some breaking news to report for all those democracy and justice lovers out there. For those that remember, about 2 months ago I posted some info on a story about a young woman who was accosted in California by 15 or so of Schwarzenegger's paid, out of state signature gatherers. Since that time, that same young teacher and I have been building a case against these people and the grossly corrupt California special election system.

We are happy to report we released our evidence today, and have officially called on the Secretary of State, with the help of Assemblyman Mark Leno, to open an investigation into the actions of these petition gatherers and the companies that hire them. We've got taped recordings, testimonials, and a whole lot more. Here's the link to the original posting on this issue a few months back: Arnold cronies and scare tactics

And, here's the press release sent out today, and the executive summary of our case:

BREAKING: Arnold Breaking California Law

Tue Mar 29, 2005 at 11:05:32 AM PDT

Arnold Is Breaking the Law

From the desk of  The Free Speech Zone  With help from Zack kaldveer. Zack is a member of the 'Anti Arnold Media Task Force, and can be reached at kaldveer- at - yahoo.com

Last week  I mentioned the story of Erica, who encountered  an angry mob of people who she encountered as she was standing outside of a Target wearing a sign that read, "I'm a teacher against Arnold's special election. Ask me why."

However this is just the beginning of the unwrapping of this story. There is much more below the surface. What if those signature gatherers hired by Arnold were hired illegally? What if Target stores had, as part of their store policy, a policy of not allowing ANY signature gatherers outside of their store? What if we found out that Target, was a major contributer to the Arnold Campaign, and that Target had made an exception to their own anti-petition gathering policy to allow only Arnold's people to petition outside their doors. Time to do a little digging......

ACTION ITEM: Sign the Petition to STOP ARNOLD

Mon Mar 28, 2005 at 10:37:22 AM PDT

From the desk of  The Free Speech Zone

Once again with the help of Zack kaldveer, I bring you news of the fight to stop Arnold.

My LAST DIARY told the story the media won't touch, about how our California Governor has lowered himself to scare tactics and bullying, while trying to wrap himself in the guise of being the 'peoples governor'.  Well enough is enough. It is time to call the Governor out.

Sign this petition and pass the word down to the left.

Intimidation and Scare Tactics: The tools of the Right

From the desk of  The Free Speech Zone with special thanks to Zack Kaldveer, who is a part of an anti-arnold media task force, and who brought this to my attention. Questions can be directed to him at 'kaldveer - at - yahoo.com'

More intimidation and scare tactic from the Right. This time it is Arnold cronies who are doing their best to make sure the opposition is stiffled. Below is the personal account of a woman engaging in her first ammendment rights when she was confronted in a rather frightening manner by those who wish her message would never be heard.

The T-shirt Challenge

Tue Mar 22, 2005 at 09:37:34 AM PDT

A Free Speech Zone Challenge

From the desk of  The Free Speech Zone

So I was reading this Diary about a young Democrat who wanted to hear first hand what Bush had to say about Social Security, but was kicked out of the event. Imagine my surprise. He was caught blue handed committing the ultimate crime. He wore a shirt proclaiming he was a Democrat.

So this got me thinking. This is a fantastic chance to get this kind of thing more attention. I am just sick and tired of the Bush team talking about how bipartisan they will be, and then throwing everyone out the door who wears anything resembling a Democratic T-shirt. It  is as if the peace sign is like cryptonite to them. And that is how my idea was born.

QUESTION: what would happen if you wore a T-shirt with a peace sign on it and below it was a recent Bush quote speaking about peace?

My SOTU prebuttle

The State Of Our Union

Today is the day our "leader" tells us how our great country is fairing. How we are the beacon of light shining as an example of the world. If you ask Bush, we represent all that is good and great. If you ask any other country we represent the greatest  threat to world peace that currently exists.
