Bushdog John Barrow is facing a real threat from progressive democrat Regina Thomas, http://reginathomas4congress.com/... .  Thomas has served 4 years in the Georgia House and is a veteran, 8 year Georgia State Senator.  This district appears to be competitive http://firedoglake.com/... and the Barrow campaign is feeling the fear.

Barack Obama is supporting John "Bushdog" Barrow and has cut a campaign commercial for him.  What better way to send both Obama and the Bushdogs a message of our unhappiness over FISA than to primary Barrow.  

This poll, in a deep Red State, could use some help.  I have never noticed the Chronicle run a poll before http://www.chron.com/.

The rescue effort is still on-going and is still criminally inadequate!  We are now at 11 days after Katrina hit and there are still vast expanses where rescuers have not been, including even in New Orleans.  The rescue should have been complete days ago.  Even a healthy survivor cannot be expected to live much more than 3 days, in a hot climate, without clean water.  

I live in a very upscale, very conservative, community in one of the most conservative states in the country, Texas.  My local democratic club is very active and we have participated in the July 4th parade for at least the last 5 years.
