The Australian Broadcasting Company piece below sums it up quite well-- Bush is poised to pack the SCOTUS, bankrupt social security, and wage endless war. This is what the people voted for, whether they knew it or not. Democrats could fight--and be pilloried--for the next 2 or 4 years, but why? To save the voters and Bush from themselves? Instead, I think the Dems should give him what he wants.
I encourage the President to expand the war on terrorism. Iraq and Afghanistan have been liberated, and are well on the road to democracy. I urge all righ-thinking Americans to urge the President to begin the next phase of the GWOT ASAP. Invade Iran and North Korea now, as soon as possible, to prevent the spread of WMD to terrorists. We will again be welcomed as liberators.
The Washington post this morning (Sunday, 31 Oct) carried a front page story that essentially called the 380 tons of RDX and HMX a drop in the bucket, given that at least 250,000 tons of pre-war munitions are not accounted for. This "excuse" for ignoring the Al QaQaa RDX/HMX scandal is itself a glaring monument to the ineptitude of the war planners and their lack of preparation to secure the country.
