NM Bingaman Attacked For Gonzales No Vote

Fri Feb 18, 2005 at 09:40:08 AM PDT

Republicans are gearing up to smear Senator Jeff Bingaman (Dem NM) for his vote opposing the confirmation of Alberto Gonzales as Attorney General.

This was diaried by AmericanRenaissance and front paged by Armando the other day, but since then a Republican challenger has stepped forward.  Not just any Republican challenger, but one who apparently has lobbied for Focus on the Family type groups.

Bingaman to face Republican challenger in U.S. Senate race

ALBUQUERQUE -- A former state senator says he plans to run against Democratic U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman next year.

Albuquerque Republican Tom Benavides was a Democrat when he was a state senator from 1967 to 1970 and from 1985 to 1996.

Political Discourse and Newton's Third Law

Mon Feb 07, 2005 at 10:43:54 AM PDT

Think about Newton's Third Law.

Every Action has an Equal and Opposite Reaction

Here's how it works. If you push on anything, it pushes back on you. That's why if you lean against the wall, you don't just fall through it. The wall pushes back on you as hard as you push on it, and you and the wall both stay in place.

My theory is that the passion of our beliefs causes us to fail miserably when we speak to the unconverted.  When we engage in political discourse, we tend to push, causing the other party to push back.  This causes political discourse with Republicans to become a painful exercise in masochism.

Bill Gates' Wet Dream

Sat Jan 29, 2005 at 11:36:15 AM PDT

A sickening AFP article linked on Yahoo discusses Bill Gates' take on the "New Chinese Capitalism."

US software giant Bill Gates has high praise for China, which he says has created a brand-new form of capitalism that benefits consumers more than anything has in the past.

The key word in the previous quote is "consumers."  The workers are screwed.
