My home state of Ohio just defeated four electoral reform measures. I can see only two possibilities for why this would be so. Either the newly-installed Diebold machines fraudulently defeated the issues or the voting public really is that stupid and this is really the way they prefer things. If the former is true, democracy has been subverted and I can not have any faith in it as a solution. If the latter is true, democracy is in the hands of a destructively stupid population and I can not have any faith in it as a solution.

At first they wanted to do these behind closed doors. Then most of it was to be held behind closed doors, now none are to be behind closed doors. So is this a pony show?
It seems that there are still honest and compassionate Americans who try to do what they believe is their moral duty even in the face of institutional obstacles. Probably they represent a proportion of the military and law-enforcement agencies similar to that of those who share their view in the U.S. public-at-large. They clearly face an up-hill battle, since it would seem that criminal elements and traitors are in positions of authority.
The ability of such traitors and their media allies to suppress embarassing facts should not be underestimated:
the Sibel Edmonds case or the dead-end Anthrax investigation are text-book cases of treasonous misprison of felonies.
The Riggs Bank info dovetails with Sibel Edmonds' allegations very nicely. When ever I mention Sibel Edmonds I feel compelled to always add into the mix President Bush's uncle Jonathan Bush and the Riggs Bank $25 million fine for a "willful, systemic" violation of anti-money-laundering laws. However that is not why I wrote this diary.

(TWIMC) Ok, due to several requests (curmudgeonly I might add), I see that I have made a considerable faux pas. To answer for the reasons I have not changed the title of this dairy it is because I have been at work. I infered as much in this comment, however, for those long in tooth and sharp in blade to kill the messenger, I originally posted this in the wee hours of the morning between my second job after not much sleep. Further, I feel at this point that changing it now would be moot. I did however convey that the link was to Channel 4 in the preamble.
I haven't time now to do otherwise, as I have class. Moreover, If it is still deemed nessasary I will consider changing it when I get home, before I pass out (to watch movies on my eyelids) and get up to start my day all over again.

We all know Don Rumsfeld has broken the military, now not only has he fractured our domestic defence, this reminds me of the Pre-Fall of the USSR, with better TV. I think the US is already on a course that cannot be reversed. So we are watching the beginning of the Fall and Break-Up of the USA in real time, as we watched that of the USSR 20 years ago.
What Russia became - oligarchs, broken military, disguised autocracy, massive pauperization, ec. - is likely the future of the US of A in the next decade.
As a autodidact, researcher, I have a question that may be of service to all. I will happily delete this diary if ther are objections. However,does anyone here know of a way to capture your hotlist with all comments and links embedded? Say in pdf form or some such? The reason I ask is two fold A.)If there is ever such a time as one can not reach kos, due to various scenarios (use your imagination here), e.g. kos server goes down etc.. B.)If traveling in places w/out internet connectivity it would be nice to have a accessible medium from which to draw from, hence the format utility.
If there are indictments in the Plame affair and a few of these guys do some time, and if Delay at least gets his power and status seriously demoted, the U. S. still works, sort of.
