It's time we get to know him better, if only slightly. And that's the aim of this diary.

Bill Clinton proposes a fix for Soc. Security
Fri Jul 01, 2005 at 09:27:44 PM PDT
And it's sure to drive the right-wing bonkers:
Legalizing more immigrants would help bolster the Social Security system, former President Bill Clinton told the nation's largest Hispanic-rights organization Friday.
"Those of you who want immigration reform should use Social Security more," Clinton said to about 1,300 members of the League of United Latin American Citizens. "If we legalize just 250,000 more immigrants a year, it would solve half of the shortfall in the Social Security Trust Fund."
More legalized immigrants would put more young people in the system to help support the deluge of baby boomer retirees, Clinton said.
During his 48-minute speech, Clinton didn't mention President Bush's plan to privatize some Social Security accounts, but he did criticize the administration indirectly.
Clinton said Hispanics experienced economic and educational gains under his presidency, but have since faltered, and it was time to figure out "where do we go from here?"
The new DNC (democrats.org) website is now unveiled

The Democratic Party
After a few teaser, blurry screenshots the past couple of days (or was it a day? My how time flies), I visited their website today a few times and now the new layout is up.
The blog itself has a makeover as well to fit into the new layout.
On the blog is a Feedback Form where I guess you can tell them about any bugs or praise or complain--something along those lines.
Wesley Clark becomes FOX News Analyst?
Wed Jun 15, 2005 at 05:37:16 PM PDT
No, I'm not pulling your leg. With former President Clinton recently praising Roger Ailes and
Terry McAuliffe fluffing Tony Snow, with Sen. Hillary Clinton & Rupert Murdoch gossip
flying around you make your own judgments as the chess pieces move around the board.
Gen. Wesley Clark Joins FNC as Foreign Affairs Analyst
Fox News Channel has signed Gen. Wesley Clark, the former NATO Supreme Allied Commander, CNN contributor and 2004 Democratic presidential candidate, as a military and foreign affairs analyst.

Mississippi's legislature embraces 10 Commandments/Jesus Bill
Sun Apr 03, 2005 at 05:02:19 PM PDT
As if you didn't have enough on your plate in regards to religious issues with the federal government, let's look at what the state of Mississippi passed the other day in their legislature:
JACKSON, Miss. -- Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour indicated Wednesday he was inclined to sign a bill that would require all public buildings to have postings of the Ten Commandments, "In God We Trust" and excerpts from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.
The Mississippi House overwhelmingly approved the measure without much debate Wednesday. The Senate approved it Tuesday, but not before one lawmaker tried to kill the bill.
Barbour spokesman Pete Smith said "the governor is inclined to sign" the bill into law.
More after the flip, yo.
More Killian/TANG memos
Sun Sep 12, 2004 at 03:35:48 AM PDT
Sorry I had to make a diary revolving around it, but I can't seem to get any attention to it any other way.
There are 4 Killian memos that come from CBS News, correct? Then where does the 2 memos by Killian that addresses James R. Bath and Bush along with another memo in June 1973 that addresses that he (Killian) and Harris have no clue as to how to rate Bush come from?
USA Today's text version of the CBS PDF's doesn't have these two, but in italic there on that page it says the White House released these copies.
NYTimes: Swift Boat anti-Kerry conspiracy
Thu Aug 19, 2004 at 07:34:47 PM PDT
3,500 words supposedly and it's 5 pages.
After weeks of taking fire over veterans' accusations that he had lied about his Vietnam service record to win medals and build a political career, Senator John Kerry shot back yesterday, calling those statements categorically false and branding the people behind them tools of the Bush campaign.
His decision to take on the group directly was a measure of how the group that calls itself Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has catapulted itself to the forefront of the presidential campaign. It has advanced its cause in a book, in a television advertisement and on cable news and talk radio shows, all in an attempt to discredit Mr. Kerry's war record, a pillar of his campaign.
