Leftist Cowards II: SHAME ON YOU STEVE!!!

Sun Jul 06, 2008 at 07:27:07 AM PDT

This is part two of the Dailykos/BBC award winning series, "Leftist Cowards". Here's part one:

Interesting how you're obviously extremely intimidated by Colonel Bob Pappas to confront him yourself there, Steve.  He's bee gracious enough to keep the lines of communication open, yet you apparently couldn't keep pace with his providing you irrefutable proof about the well documented cowardice of "liberals."  So...out of your frustration, you encourage the rest of the "liberals" on this blog to fight your fights for you.

I've personally never considered you anything more than a socialist coward.  And that goes for your BIGGEST fan Meryl Vladimir as well.  Matter of fact, neither one of you should be passing yourselves off as true Democrats.  You bring nothing but shame to a once noble party of true patriots.

FISA, Party Unity, Blogwars Meta, Yay!

Sat Jun 28, 2008 at 09:22:56 AM PDT

This whole inter-blog FISA firestorm is simple:

One group has moved to the general election and wants to hold Obama accountable.

The other group is still sensitive about the primary and the (potentially) fractured party and wants to strategically avoid criticizing Obama from the left at this time.

Unity rally video + Bill + $$$ = Obama!

The news comes one day after Mr. Obama and his wife, Michelle, announced that they had each contributed $2,300 to Mrs. Clinton to help retire her campaign debt

Bill Clinton is awesome.

Wed Jun 25, 2008 at 07:31:45 AM PDT

No, this is not a troll diary or snark: I'm serious.

Bill Clinton is awesome. He's the most human president we'll ever have. He sometimes makes mistakes. He lets his (many) passions get the best of him on occasion. And sure, he seems a bit overwhelmed by the youtube-style campaign. But the man is still awesome. And I support him, no matter what he said in the HEATED primary. I love this man. He represented hope and progress to so many people (including myself).

This is what unity is, folks. It's forgiving heated political debate during a primary and reaching out to the other side. The burden is on the WINNERS to be cordial and forgiving, NOT the losers.

John McCain is pathetic.

Tue Jun 24, 2008 at 06:27:10 PM PDT

This guy is pathetic.

Half his party hates his guts. The other half can barely stand him. Many of his Senate colleagues think he's an unbalanced psychopath. To me, he seems like a bloodthirsty warmonger, stubbornly refusing defeat in a hopeless quagmire while pointlessly rattling his saber at another enemy in a neighboring country.

The only thing keeping his poll numbers above 40 nationally is his reputation as a "maverick". But Arizonans know better. He's underperforming George W. Bush in his home state, a red state.

The only skill this disingenuous creton posesses is the ability to go on television and pretend to bash his own party to gain affection from beltway elites while simultaneously voting 95% of the time with his party in the halls of Congress, all the while knowing that the media is too lazy to pay attention.

Old people are great. I love my old relatives. But John McCain is a man whose sanity is crumbling away in front of our very eyes. His senility manifests itself daily. He thinks Iran is arming Al Qaeda. He thinks the economy can survive on ebay. He's baffled by the problems of modern day human beings.

barack mcgovern will loose

Thu Jun 19, 2008 at 12:04:33 AM PDT

barack obama will loose 45 states this september. he is going to get beaten in the general election and there is nothing you obamaphiles can do about it because he has destroyed the democratic party, rejected the 18 million opponents of his campaign and discarded the moderate wing of the party, which helped the party flourish in the 90s and led to a generation of progressive reforms.

19 million people voted against obama - a SOLID majority of those voters chose his opponent for non-racial reasons. there are millions of pumas who will vote against obama because modern second wave feminism demands a mature and rational response to a loss: spiting the winner. especially if he's an inadequate black male.

19.5 million voices were heard. obama will get crushed this year. i've been saying it for months and all of the evidence seems to be pointing towards that at this point. i don't look like an idiot because all of my predictions look rosy. mccain is way ahead.

Impeachment talk is good.

Tue Jun 10, 2008 at 05:59:51 PM PDT

I'm quite happy that a few Democrats in Congress are putting forth a few symbolic impeachment bills.

This is exactly what we need to keep the Nader folks from voting for Nader. We need to throw them a pointless symbolic bone. We need to pretend like impeachment is really important for a week or so.

The people who support impeachment (as a REALISTIC option - not a symbolic gesture) are mostly ex-Naderites/Kucinich supporters who need to be tossed some (soy) red meat occasionally so they'll calm down a bit and get back to whining about NAFTA.

The utter pointlessness of spending Congressional time attempting to impeach Bush is readily apparent to every thinking Democrat. Mr. Wexler himself knows that this is simply an exercise in firing up the base against Bush. After all - the base has been focused on the primary for far too long. Too many Democrats have been focused on hating Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama for many months. The best thing for unity is a symbolic impeachment resolution that is basically meaningless red meat. This reunites the Democratic party against the real enemy: George W. Bush, the worst President of all time - the guy who pushes our turnout numbers into the stratosphere.

All Dems who trashed Obama: Come back!

Mon Jun 09, 2008 at 06:45:54 AM PDT

Some folks on this site seem to think that unifying the party means only embracing those Hillary supporters who sat meekly and praised Hillary while making scarce mention of Barack Obama. I reject this.

Some think that unifying the party means only embracing Hillary supporters who both praised Hillary Clinton while making issue-based attacks on Barack Obama. I reject this.

Some think that unifying the party means embracing ALL Democrats - even if they trashed Obama with vicious personal attacks. This is the truth.

Barack Obama's gigantic ears

Sat May 31, 2008 at 09:32:16 AM PDT

Barack Obama has freakishly large ears. They're awesome, and they allow him to hear stuff really well. In the age of domestic spying, I almost can't support him because of his ears, because I fear that he can hear my thoughts, but I've looked past that. There are more important issues, like his well toned biceps and low resting heart rate.

Yesterday, Obama finally addressed this important issue at Mount Rushmore:

Traveling spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters after the stop concluded that Communications Director Robert Gibbs had informed the senator a group of people were making the trip. Obama's response: "I want to go, too."

It was his first trip to the national park. Earlier in the week, rival Hillary Clinton made her own trip to the famous monument.

After being shown around the site by a ranger, Obama turned to his press corps and asked them what they thought of the view. One reporter asked if he'd like to see himself up there someday.

"I don't think my ears would fit," he said. "There's only so much rock up there."

Superdelegate leaners revealed!

Thu May 29, 2008 at 06:10:32 PM PDT

Here's my list of superdelegate leaners. It includes 4 superdelegates who currently support Hillary Clinton but will probably switch to Obama. It represents a net gain of 50 for Obama.

Does anyone know any other leaners? Or perhaps people want to dispute this list? I've had tons of fun keeping it over the last few weeks. It's been especially gratifying when a superdelegate endorses Obama and I can take them off the list. I was tracking HRC leaners for a while, but I figure that's probably pointless.

Here's the list:

May 31rd we march the rules committee

Wed May 28, 2008 at 06:13:24 PM PDT

next weekend the dnc rules committee will meet to decide weather democracy will be served or if democracy will be trampled. the meeting is in dc in the heart of anacostia, and kausacks who support hillary are encouraged to protest outside the anacostia metro ramp and yell at anyone who looks sort of like an obama supporter who might be conducting a secret protest in street clothes (they plan this...trust me...i heard from larry quarter).

every since the obamobots have threatened the ghastly prospect of delegates being choped in half (which won't happen because even howard dean isn't that bloody) i have been planning this. they have threaten riots at the convention in boston this fucking september too. and they have called hillary an assassinator. they have implied that she is racist because she pointed out a true fact that her supporters are hard working whites, unlike obama's supporters, who are just an elitist cult, looking down at traditional values and proud history of small rural towns in southern states.

freedoms not free? NObama TAKIGN election

Mon May 26, 2008 at 03:53:09 PM PDT

i am sick of reading this www and the worst sexial exploition of obama's kult supporters and of the exploition of hillary's nonoffensive statement about the history of june. and compare that to obama saying that rural people bitter about guns and religion no choice between the two?

we are seeing the future best president of our time hillary clinton shoved aside because she won the popular vote....why? right-wing talking points kult of the messiah throws the election like florida in 2004 with electric voting again? and itds all happening while media watches and does not nothing.

florida disenfranchised again and we looking at a coop by obama and his messiah naive bandmates.

Florida-Michigan Issue is like abolition

Fri May 23, 2008 at 09:44:40 AM PDT

The seating of 100% of Florida/Michigan's delegates is one of the most important issues of our time. This is about our basic freedoms. We have not seen an issue this important since the Supreme Court roundly rejected prior restraint. This act of aggression towards Florida/Michigan - The DNC's act of aggression - will not stand.

Let's do some historical comparisons between this issue and other historic struggles:

Game time: What is sexism? Who is sexist?

Mon May 19, 2008 at 06:03:43 PM PDT

Since a small vocal minority of the Clinton bloggers are now claiming that they've lost the Democratic primary because of BLANTANT AND INTENTIONAL SEXISM from party leaders, the media, and all-powerful airport gag gift venders.

While I'm attempted to just say, "That's just...like...your opinion, man", I'd rather play a little game! Yay!

The game is called: What is sexism? Who is sexist?

Let's start with a situation (bizarrely) cited by the Clintonites as a key example of sexism:

Situation one: Howard Dean/Donna Brazille/the DNC (temporarily) refuses to seat the delegations in primary states that broke the rules despite repeated warnings by leaders in both major campaigns.

Is this sexism?
No.

Is the DNC sexist because of this?
No.

Does this have ANYTHING to do with gender relations???
No.

Agree or disagree with the DNC, isn't this just a dry procedural issue?
Yes.

Blogosphere sexism exposed!

Sat May 17, 2008 at 11:21:00 AM PDT

The sexist tactics of the Clinton Blogger Henchmen continue.

First they went after NARAL, one of the most important organizations in the nation for defending women's reproductive rights.

Now I'm hearing angry calls from the Clinton online henchmen that women should just stay home in November. In other words: women's place is in the home next November. That is BLATANT SEXISM and it deserves to be called out!!!
