Dear DailyKos family, I need your help in winning a debate against a republican friend.  I play on an adult soccer league in my town, and for the past 5 years have played alongside a man who professes his conservatism at every opportunity, usually over beers after our weekly game with the rest of the team.  Last night we got into a "discussion" when he stated, out of nowhere, "you guys better all pray Obama doesn't become President, or this economy is going to go down the tubes".

I keep reading this over and over again.  Mostly on other blogs and media outlets, to be sure.  And besides the fact that there is no true evidence to support this (and no, I do not trust the polls this far out whether they favor Obama or Clinton), I keep thinking that even if it were true, it wouldn't matter to me anyway.

Is it me or did they place the best picture they could find of Kerry up next to the worst they could find of Dean?  Or maybe I'm just paranoid...
