Wal-Mart lobbies for increase in minimum wage

Tue Oct 25, 2005 at 07:30:21 AM PDT

Wal-Mart appears to be lobbying for an increase in the minimum wage, as it sees its customers struggling to keep up their spending that pays Wal-Mart's bills.  They are also targeting increasing fuel efficiency of their fleet (to the tune of $310 million a year in saved fuel costs) and getting their stores served by renewable resources.  Is this a public relations coup, I do not think so.

The Coburn Amendments and an Alliance

Thu Oct 20, 2005 at 04:18:22 PM PDT

It seems that both Redstate and Kos are in support of reducing or eliminating pork from our budget, so I say why can't we (in the blogoshpere and our influences outside it) have a temporary truce and see if the internet really can influence our elected "representatives".  I propose that we (both Redstate and Kos) get together to harass our Senators and get the media to portray this pork non stop until the public is so outraged that Coburn's amendments pass from shame (and fear of backlash).  Saving that outcome, maybe it is time to throw all incumbents out of office that do not respect our money (at least make them go through nasty primaries).
