Vermont House to Vote on Impeachment

Tue Apr 24, 2007 at 10:49:04 PM PDT

In a big reversal of earlier statements, Vermont House Speaker Gaye Symington will allow the impeachment resolution to be voted on in the House.

"I have come to believe that regardless of whether the House votes on impeachment or not, it has already come to take significant time and attention from the House’s work. I now believe that by bringing the resolution up for a vote, we can address the issue of impeachment as a full body and then move on to the work ahead in the final weeks of the session," Symington said Tuesday in a statement.

Vermont First Projected Win for Kerry

Tue Nov 02, 2004 at 04:32:08 PM PDT

The easiest 7 PM poll closing to call for Kerry was Vermont.  Only 3 electoral votes here, but it's a start.

The significant numbers that I'm looking for are turnout and margin (like everywhere else?)  Maybe even moreso here, since our traditionally high turnout numbers dipped in 2000 to 63% from 69% in 1992. Midterms were a dismal 50% in 2002.

I'm hoping to see a serious rebound, especially a surge in young voters, since we have had a huge gap between young/old turnout.  My son is voting in his second presidential election, and managed to convince all his friends to register and vote this time - most did not in 2000.
