South Central Farm in LA Being EVICTED NOW! Updated
Tue Jun 13, 2006 at 10:09:11 AM PDT
South Central Farms, in the heart of the concrete jungle in LA, was created in 1992. It's a 14-acre oasis, divided into 360 plots, possibly the largest urban garden in the country. The City of LA acquired the land in the late '80s through eminent domain, taking it from nine private owners. After the uprising in 1992, the City set aside the parcel for use as a community garden. More history here:

Since there was a clause in the eminent domain agreement stating that if, after ten years, the City determined the parcel was no longer required for public use, the property has reverted to ownership by a former owner.

Cuckoo Malkin "Forced to . . . move" !
Sat Apr 22, 2006 at 02:26:42 PM PDT
Michelle doesn't like getting a taste of her own medicine!
When I first saw this story posted on Indybay, I was skeptical. I went to the Santa Cruz Sentinel's website, I couldn't find the article, so I thought it was a late April Fool's joke. Well, it looks like Malkin's the FOOL! Karma's working!
After nationally syndicated columnist and blogger Michelle Malkin posted the e-mail addresses and phone numbers of three members of Students Against War, they received a flood of obscene and harassing messages from around the country, including death threats. When a liberal Web site, in retaliation, published Malkin's cell phone number and home address, a full-blown blog war ensued.
"I am now forced to remove one of my children from school and move my family," Malkin wrote Thursday in an e-mail to the Sentinel.
