Discovery the other night ran the documentary about the "674 mile relay race" that took place Feb. 2, 1925, from Nenana to Nome, Alaska.
On Jan. 21s, 1925, there was a diphtheria outbreak in Nome, and a great humanitarian effort was organized to get antitoxin serum to the community as quickly as possible.
