So Obama is supposed to pile on with Clark on McCain's military record?
Mon Jun 30, 2008 at 08:25:07 PM PDT
This is what he's supposed to do? Am I getting that right from kos and people here who are pissed at Obama for not having General Clark's back?
Allow me to disagree.
Hillary Clinton is setting herself up to be Al Gore (w/ POLL)
Wed May 21, 2008 at 08:33:55 AM PDT
I don't think this is being said at all on the blogosphere or in the mainstream media, but Hillary Clinton is steadily but surely moving toward making herself Al Gore of this primary contest, the candidate who 'really won' even though she lost the nomination. Now, this may assure her spot at the top of the ticket in 2012 if the democrats lose this fall, but it will be incredibly damaging to our chances in 2008.
"Regular people" = "Sheep" to the Mainstream Media.
Sun May 04, 2008 at 08:48:34 AM PDT
This is something that national politicians can't bring up, but the blogosphere needs to find someone to get out there in a big way. The phrase 'regular people' that is promoted by the traditional media is really just their term for the people that they see as sheep, easy to manipulate.
Obama's Speech on Race and Chris Rock
Sat Mar 22, 2008 at 08:59:00 AM PDT
I think that part of the reason why Obama's speech really touched people is the same reason why many people found Chris Rock: Bigger and Blacker so funny. Follow me after the break:
Obama's a secret Muslim terrorist sympathizer, an uppity Negro, and a communist
Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 04:43:25 PM PDT
This is how the GOP will attack Barack Obama. I think we need to strategize how to counter this now.
More after the break.
The Obama-Clinton outrage has not been a battle over primary camps
Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 05:32:31 PM PDT
What is being lost for the most part in the progressive political blogosphere is that the dust up over the Clintons' remarks and their surrogates' remarks isn't just a fight between Obama supporters, Clinton supporters, and the normal primary drama.
I see a rec'd diary about a truce between the two camps, as if that is where the outrage comes from. It isn't.
To all the Clinton apologists on the MLK, JFK, LBJ comments made yesterday, read this.
Tue Jan 08, 2008 at 12:54:17 AM PDT
Okay, I wrote a diary blasting Clinton for her comments yesterday, and some people felt it was out of line because they said Clinton was in no way comparing MLK and LBJ, she was merely comparing JFK and LBJ. There is a diary from Geekesque on this here
then how do they account for this?
"President Kennedy was in Congress for 14 years. He was a war hero. He was a man of great accomplishments and readiness to be president. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led a movement. He was gassed. He was beaten. He was jailed. And he gave a speech that was one of the most beautifully, profoundly important speeches ever written in America, the "I have a dream" speech.
"And then he worked with President Johnson to get the civil rights laws passed, because the dream couldn’t be realized until finally it was legally permissible for people of all colors and backgrounds and races and ethnicities to be accepted as citizens.
"I’m running for president because I believe that there is not a contradiction between experience and change."

It took a white man to get it done (Updated w/ link)
Mon Jan 07, 2008 at 02:21:33 PM PDT
I have to weigh in on the Hillary's MLK/LBJ comments.
EDIT:
"Dr. King's dream began to be realized when President Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act," Clinton said. "It took a president to get it done."

Why the front page attacks on Paul here are counterproductive [POLL]
Tue Jan 01, 2008 at 11:33:41 AM PDT
Paul, who is the HIGHEST FUNDRAISER on the Republican side in the 4th quarter, and clearly has the most fervent and motivated support on that side as well, is a boon to democrats.
And we may see the payoff for us in only 2 days.
Iowa will not change the game like in 2004
Mon Dec 31, 2007 at 05:41:58 AM PDT
The Dean collapse and the Kerry ascendency in 2004 centered around the Iowa caucus. It ended up being the big game changer that caused someone who was polling around 7% in some national polls pre-Iowa to become the frontrunner, and cause the national frontrunner, Dean, to fall dramatically.
This scenario won't occur in 2008.
Here are the ONLY 3 scenarios in the GOP primaries [w/ POLL]
Fri Dec 21, 2007 at 04:41:30 AM PDT
So, with only a couple weeks out before Iowa and NH, there seems to be only 3 possibilites for the first 2 ontests on the Republican side.
- Romney wins Iowa, and wins NH.
- Huckabee wins Iowa, Romney hangs on and wins NH.
- Huckabee wins Iowa, McCain wins NH.
after the break I'll look at what these scenarios entail.
I hope the Clintons throw everything at Obama [POLL]
Mon Dec 17, 2007 at 11:23:10 AM PDT
The escalating attacks from the Clinton camp and her supporters is the best thing to happen for Obama, the presidential candidate.
Huckabee is a nightmare for the GOP [POLL]
Sat Dec 08, 2007 at 11:14:28 AM PDT
Huckabee rocketing up the primary polls is a disaster for the Republican party. His rise reveals deep flaws in their Big Tent and their 2008 presidential field.
Why are we helping Republicans?
Tue Nov 20, 2007 at 04:00:48 PM PDT
In this frontpage diary, we have a long diatribe about the Right wing fringe candidate. I want to know why this site, which is about electing and promoting democrats and progressives, is helping to do the GOP frontrunners' work for them.
Giuliani: Child Molestation Case Skeleton in his Closet
Thu Nov 01, 2007 at 11:44:55 AM PDT
He may be running as the GOP ‘daddy’ to protect Americans from terrorists,"A noun, a verb, 9/11", but he has a past of dropping the ball when the most vulnerable among us need protection. This is just one skeleton in an ample closet for the GOP frontrunner that I’m bringing out. Coupled with the ABC news story last week that Giuliani Defends, Employs Priest Accused of Molesting Teens, I'm sensing a pattern.
Scolding and Shaming the GOP isn't what the Dem Congress was sent to do
Wed Aug 22, 2007 at 09:56:37 AM PDT
I just want to bring up the main reason that the approval of Congress is at an historical low right now, and while the Democratic controlled Congress has passed some important pieces of legislation, they haven't satisfied the will of the American voter that put it in power.
Rove was never that impressive in the first place (w/ POLL)
Mon Aug 13, 2007 at 03:18:18 PM PDT
Seriously. What was this guy a 'political genius' for? For having a delusional dream of creating a permanent Republican majority? The things pundits point to are about as germane as they come as far as political strategy and acumen.
Hillary will win, Bush won't be impeached, we'll be in Iraq until 2009
Tue Jun 05, 2007 at 11:19:38 AM PDT
These are three staements which, realistically, are true. And they are truths that are hard to swallow for many of us here, but if we want to be effective moving ahead we have to do more than complain about these things all the time.
