I actually am allergic to dog unfortunately. I think they are great, but I can’t own one. That is just to say that Kristie still found a way to make me personally hate her.
In a new finding from her to be published book:
In “No Going Back,” due out May 7, Noem wrote: “Through my tenure on the House Armed Services Committee, I had the chance to travel to many countries to meet with world leaders. I remember when I met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. I’m sure he underestimated me, having no clue about my experience staring down little tyrants (I’d been a children’s pastor, after all). Dealing with foreign leaders takes resolve, preparation and determination. My experiences on those many foreign trips made me a better member of Congress and a stronger governor. It allowed me to hone my deal-making skills, which play a crucial role in leadership.”
As some of you know I’m a teacher. I guess I was a bit pre-disposed for some reason to think of Noem as horrible immoral human being but still comparing little kids you are supposed to be looking after their spiritual development as “little tyrants,” worse than Kim Jong Un just rubbed me wrong. I mean even joking wise. Real teachers don’t talk that way and there is a good reason. It’s because everyone is different and you know that because in a classroom you run into all the different types of them. I mean I might say one class is louder than the next or more or less difficult behavior-wise. But I would never say the kids I teach are “tyrants” because as soon as you think about it you get a picture of the one sweet kid who sits in the corner and keeps to themselves but writes like really good poetry that no one knows about. That thought just shuts you up so you end up saying something else like, “there are a few kids in that class that are really challenging” etc.
Besides the whole thing being bullshit, but it’s annoying that even the bullshit is stupid bullshit that is just supposed to make you look cool by being an asshole.
