Let me start of by saying I am a HUGE fan of Susan Rice and I really am excited to see a lot of younger diplomats heading up our foreign policy and Rice with her years of experience would be an asset in anything she does.
With that being said after all Kerry has done for Obama and this country, I don't see how Rice is a better fit for this position
Here is what Kerry has in his favor:
- Serves as Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee
- Internationally recognized elder statesman who has almost universal name recognition as a major party's nominee for POTUS
- Strong early supporter of Obama not just inviting him to speak at 2004 convention, but being an early endorser allowing him access to a vast rolodex of big wigs.
- Debate prep......anyone who volunteers to pretend to be Romney, deserves some major kudos.
- He wants the job VERY BADLY.........why not reward him for his loyalty?
I guess I am sending this out to see what people have against Kerry for Secretary of State, and/or why Susan Rice would be a better fit. Id hate to see Obama waste political capital trying to push through Susan Rice.
