Do I say he's in cognitive decline or not? If I do, then I am impeaching the vice president and the whole administration and I implying that he must resign effective immediately. If I don't, then I am advocating that we erase the votes of and disenfranchise 87% of Democratic Party primary voters because of July polls which is hardly a satisfactory basis or justification for such a radically anti-democratic move.
This leads us to reject the premise as faulty.
Do you trust Vice President Harris? If President Biden were in cognitive decline, she would know it. Do you seriously believe that if he were in serious cognitive decline, she would not tell the truth to the president, the media, the Democratic Party, and the American people? If you don't trust her, then she can't be the nominee. How would choosing somebody else fare with the base of the Democratic Party, African American women? How would it fare with the Democratic Party as a whole? How would messaging that trashes the administration play out in favor of some alternative candidate besides Vice President Harris?
Truth bomb here. This is from The Belle Kurve who made a short video from her tweet thread. The video is on You Tube. At times her tweet which is what she intended to simply read in the video varies from her spoken words in the video. When that happens and I catch it, I put the spoken word in brackets. Maybe I should have done this the other way around, I don't know. I apologize for any lack of cohesion that this might have caused. It's a little bit of work. What she said starts below the video.

"I've been on Twitter cussing people out but I wanted to bring my tweet thread over here because I feel that it's important and I 'mma just read it to you so you don't have to read it yourself:

How insane is the hate for Black ppl, that non-Blacks would sacrifice their daughters & sisters in order to prevent power over the country in Black hands? Sacrificing *women* isn't that surprising, but risking fascism just to avoid a Black woman as president? My God. 1/22
.
.
A lot of these white pundits cannot be trusted to have unbiased, community or country minded opinions when it comes to our legislature. Neither can men of other races who clamor to be white adjacent.
.
.
Every ethnicity has #TrashPandas.
.
.
The punditry during this presidential cycle is proof positive. WM have taken a 3 year age btw two old azz men- which has NEVER CONCERNED THEM LIKE THIS BEFORE (ie. Chuck Grassley, Mitch McConnell) & exacerbated the issue into something akin to a nuclear war threat (NEVERMIND THAT THE "YOU GER" ONE OF THE TWO OLD ASS MEN IS AN *ACTUAL NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT, THAT SHOULD NEVER BE WITHIN 1,000 FEET OF THE NATION'S CAPITOL AGAIN) .
.
.
The whole entire reason that we have a VICE PRESIDENT is to have someone capable to step into the role of president if something, God Forbid, happens to the president, or if they decide they're done dealing with the duties of the executive branch & wanna leave the job.
.
.
That's the thing y'all keep forgetting. IT'S A MF JOB. Not a knighthood, not a coronation, not a canonization; A MF JOB. Experience should count. A LOT. And @JoeBiden has worked in this field his entire life, through every trial life has tossed his way. But here's where Joe messed up:
.
.
After all his years on the hill, & applying for the top job a few times himself, he helped a Black dude get it. They punished him by being uncooperative, but he was retiring anyway & leaving public service on a high in 2016 .
.
.
*sigh*
.
.
No good deed goes unpunished.
.
.
Allow me a tangent here to tell you how what I know about grief: it can break you like nothing else in this world and, concurrently, it can put a battery in your back. It can make you hyper-focus & get shit DONE on the days you aren't inconsolable or in a useless crippling fog.
.
.
I have never lost my spouse, I've never lost a living child, let alone 2. I have lost people I have loved tho. And when those people leave, if they ever expressed potential they see in you, it replays in your mind over& over. It compels you to want to live up to their vision.
.
.
I honestly believe that's why @JoeBiden came back to politics. His son Beau believed he could help keep this country on the straight and narrow . The country he fought for, quite possibly contracted brain cancer protecting & died for. Grief isn't exclusive to death. Biden's living son, Hunter, has had his personal addiction struggles & bad decisions paraded across the country by bad political actors & is facing jail time all bc Joe decided to take this job. NOONE would give a flying FUCK about Hunter's gallivanting [and all the shit he's doing if Joe Biden wasn't his daddy and Joe Biden wasn't president, so if you understand that, you understand that this is also] if Joe wasn't President.
.
.
This is a grief he carries too, along with the caskets of his wife, daughter, and son. So irks my last nerve when people harp on his age, bc I have never had anything half as important to do as Joe Biden, but I know how grief has had me in a bedridden chokehold before.
.
.
@Joe Biden was born the same year as my daddy, who was died in 2017. The fact that he gets up every day to run this dumpster fire; deal with idiot press; deal with insolent former coworkers on the hill [these people know him and he knows these people and he knows how stupid and incorrigible they are being right now in government. He knew it when he was with Obama and they kept stopping everything that they wanted to do. ] ; deal with the machination of SCOTUS; deal with foreign leaders; he has to deal with MF criticizing him because they think he has powers he doesn't; deal with the damn dog biting people, like -- YOU'RE CRAZY IF YOU THINK HE IS COMPLETELY SENILE. Slower? Sure. But incapable of running the country. B get BENT. Your ass couldn't even do it WITHOUT the grief [let alone with what this man going through. FUK YOU] . I can say that so confidently because baby I'm half Joe Biden's age and in my grief I would have sent drones to nuke various states by now, ON. G.P. (general principles) stares at FL, MS, TX, KY, TN. Or at the very least I'd be punching Senators & House members who played in my face daily. *Stares at Joe Manchin and Lindsay Graham*
.
.
All that I have to say if you think @Joe Biden is incapable of doing the job, your opinion is misguided, not intelligent, not comprehensive, & quite frankly invalid. You are not taking the full extent of what this man deals with & has accomplished so far, into consideration.
.
.
Therefore, it would behoove you to either reevaluate your opinion or curses people out.
.
.
But back to the point; hatred of Black people & refusing them power. These white dudes have decided that @Joe Biden runs the country on an island. That he couldn't POSSIBLY have a competent staff & cabinet around, let alone a whole ass highly qualified & capable @VP, so now it's time to PANIC & REPLACE HIM WITH ANOTHER WHITE DUDE, STAT.
.
.
Cause fuck the Black woman who is his literal, rightful successor. They would rather roll the dice on Gavin Newsom, who is hated by half his state, which would then make California, the most weighty state in the electoral college a swing state.
.
.
Then they trotted out Pete Buttigieg even though Ohio a current swing state incorrectly blames him for the East Palestine train derailment. Then threw out Big Gretch from Michigan which wouldn't fly, but ESPECIALLY NOT OVER @KamalaHarris w/ the base of the party.
.
.
Pundits are supposed to take all this into consideration when forming their political opinions when & offering them to the voting public, no? They're supposed to be so dialed in & well informed that they consider angles laypeople don't, right? So, how'd they miss @KamalaHarris?
.
.
Here's how: they know that if Joe Biden gets reelected & retires, @KamalaHarris gets a chance at 10 years in the Oval. They know that if he stays & the Biden Harris administration has another successful 4 years, it's harder to hide their racism/sexism & justify not supporting her in 2028.
.
.
So it all boils down to white pundits hating the thought of Black ppl having power in this country SO MUCH that they'd willingly sacrifice their own daughters' & sisters' health/safety to a fascist regime to stop it from happening again -- ESPECIALLY w/ a BLACK *WOMAN* . My God. "
********************************* Everybody who is in front of a camera frequently makes mistakes. Some make more mistakes than others. President Biden for whatever reason, his stutter or for another reason, has been making gaffes for many decades. So, that's not evidence of cognitive decline. If it were, then it would have true a very long time ago. He was known for gaffes in 2008 when then Democratic Party nominee Senator Obama chose them Senator Biden to be his running mate. If you think that Obama would not have had him thoroughly checked out mentally to make sure that he wasn't in cognitive decline, you're wrong. If anyone had been dumb enough to suggest that he was in cognitive decline because of his many gaffes at that time, then mental health experts would have ridiculed them.
The Trump team has been throwing out this accusation because every accusation is a confession, their own man has serious cognitive health issues, but as a stutterer, President Biden was more vulnerable to the accusation as he has aged, in part because his ability to mask his stutter has waned as he has aged. The media might have implied this, but they didn't directly say this. Accusations, we do understand, aren't proof of anything. Of course, because of his stutter, the pandemic, and the hostility of the media, President Biden was much less visible than he should have been for public relations purposes because his lack of visibility and the relentless media coverage and his stutter and his age made him extraordinarily vulnerable to the accusation.
I repeat the dichotomy here:
Do I say he's in cognitive decline or not? If I do, then I am impeaching the vice president and the whole administration and I implying that he must resign effective immediately. If I don't, then I am advocating that we erase the votes of and disenfranchise 87% of Democratic Party primary voters because of July polls which is hardly a satisfactory basis or justification for such a radically anti-democratic move.
This leads us to reject the premise as faulty.
There are two competing hypotheses for the debate. One says that the stability, effectiveness, and success of the administration is essentially dumb luck and we have a diminished person with serious cognitive decline running the executive branch of the federal government. The other says that we have a bunch of factors together that satisfactorily explain the debate. We will ignore the transcript of the debate as that doesn't contribute to the thesis that President Biden is in serious cognitive decline very well and the debate is the only evidence of consequence that anybody has put forward to justify the claim. It is not unheard of for an incumbent president running for reelection to have a bad first debate. President Biden was overprepared as happened to a previous occupant of the White House. President Biden had traveled 1,000 miles recently. He has had a grueling schedule. He had difficulty dealing with the Gish Gallup, the nonstop stream of enormous lies, lies that are blatant, egregious, and indefensible when examined under any degree of scrutiny. The incessant crosstalk while it was President Biden's turn to speak threw him off. President Biden is less able to hide his stutter as he has aged, the format of this type of event exacerbates that problem, and there are physical manifestations and consequences of his stutter. Finally, President Biden has a very bad cold.
Since the debate, there have not been any other comparable events to the debate. Since there are two competing hypotheses put forward to account for what occurred and there are no other comparable events, then we lack a sufficient basis for such a radically anti-democratic move as to erase the votes of and disenfranchise 87% of Democratic Party primary voters. The burden of proof is upon those who would engage in such a radically anti-democratic move. They have not been able to meet this burden at this time.
If President Biden ended his campaign, then the media and Republicans will ask how we can trust President Biden with the nuclear codes if he cannot be trusted with his own campaign? Any answer as to why President Biden is ending his campaign now other then because he is in serious cognitive decline will not be believed. (1) President Biden has repeatedly insisted that he would not end his campaign. It, therefore, wouldn't be believed that he was doing this because he wanted to spend more time with his family or for other reasons. (2) The contention that we're doing this not because President Biden is in cognitive decline but that his polls are bad wouldn't be treated as an honest response. You don't throw out the results of the one and only democratic process that we have to choose a nominee because he's got bad polls in July, especially when the winner won 87% of Democratic Party primary votes.
So, then President Biden gets hounded every day until he gets he resigns. Vice President Harris becomes President Harris. President Harris must nominate a potential vice president. That nominee must unlike judges and other administration officials be confirmed by BOTH CHAMBERS OF CONGRESS, not just the Senate. The House of Representatives is controlled by the Republican Party. This would yield either a very ideologically diverse president and vice president to say the least or we make the American people endure six months without a vice president.
"Why, " the question will be asked, "was President Harris not honest with the American people and more patriotic?" She would have hid the truth. Her job approval rating is negative 14.
Finally, do you trust Vice President Harris? If President Biden were in cognitive decline, she would know it. Do you seriously believe that if he were in serious cognitive decline, she would not tell the truth to the president, the media, the Democratic Party, and the American people? If you don't trust her, then she can't be the nominee. How would choosing somebody else fare with the base of the Democratic Party, African American women? How would it fare with the Democratic Party as a whole? How would messaging that trashes the administration play out in favor of some alternative candidate besides Vice President Harris?
Taken as a whole, polling doesn't support the thesis that Vice President Harris would perform better as the presidential candidate for the ticket than President Biden. According to 538, Vice President Harris would have a significantly less chance of winning the electoral college because she is much less likely to win Pennsylvania the most likely tipping point state. President Biden's chance of winning the electoral college is 48 in 100 while Vice President Harris' chance is 31 in 100.
Since we don't have proof that President Biden is in cognitive decline and since the polling doesn't support the thesis that Vice President Harris is more likely to win the 2024 presidential election, then why would we ever engage in such a radically anti-democratic move?
