I’m biased. I’m biased against Israel for its barbaric slaughter of Palestinians. I have received numerous criticisms by supporters of Israel. Many of them accuse me of antisemitism. That is unfounded. In fact, I don’t even GET antisemitism. My former housemates were Jewish and I do not hesitate to say that I loved them like family.
I have also received even more comments applauding my outpourings of emotion about Gaza. I poured out my feelings, and some agree with me. I feel it in my gut. It is disgust, outrage, and betrayal by my government here in the US.
It seems to me that Americans feel like we are the “good guys.” We want to be good guys, but our government keeps stepping in it, if you know what I mean. In this case, we are totally on the wrong side in Gaza. It is Biden but not him alone, and there’s more to it.
The US press is not reporting the horrors that we are seeing in Gaza, except in occasional blurbs reported as if they are flying over Gaza at 30,000 feet. The horrors are in the details. I can skim social media, and Al Jazeera to get some smattering of the real news, but I wish there was more accurate news getting through to the American people in their everyday media.
Just taking a look today, I see images of dead children who are literally skin and bones from starvation. Israel is starving the Palestinian population. This is a war crime, period. Why is the US supporting this?
I see a video of a dead burnt and mutilated child being pulled from the rubble. The press reporter grimaced at the sight and averted his eyes away. He couldn’t bear to see it. For me, I felt it in the pit of my stomach.
There is a video of Israeli troops unleashing a large German Shepard attack dog on a disabled old lady. Is this how the IDF entertains itself? I have called the IDF cowards before, but that is an understatement.
I see a video of a tiny, tiny baby, burned and charred to a black cinder. I see video of a cute little 2 year old girl who was dug out from the rubble. She is wearing a shirt that says, “Home is where ever I’m with you.” She is alone. I think that she is an orphan now, like thousands of other children.
There are videos of pro-Palestinian protesters in various places around the world. There are bombs exploding more buildings in Gaza. There are photos of crying, and wailing parents holding white shrouds containing their children. This is what Israel does.
There is a video of the victims of a bombing at Jabaliya girls' school just after it happened. All around on the ground are the bloody bodies of civilian people, their arms and legs askew, mouths gaping open in death. Rescuers are carrying away some of the limp bodies, limbs and heads wagging.
I see a Palestinian man recovering in a hospital bed after being released by Israel after they captured him. He was tortured. Israel is systematically torturing the Palestinians that they capture. Israel’s war crimes are TNTC. (too numerous to count. )
I’m tired of this. I’m exhausted by this. Call me biased. Call me antisemitic. F** you Israel. (Sorry for the expletive, but I’ve had it.) It has nothing to do with who is Jewish or not, it is the state of Israel.

Here is what I think is going on. If by some miracle, Israel kills all of the Hamas fighters, do you think that Palestinians will all of a sudden embrace Israel? “Praise Allah, Israel we love you now. After all those decades of oppression, we forgive you for all of that. Let’s put that all behind us.”
Oh no. I don’t think so. Put yourself in the place of a Palestinian over there. Can you imagine the misery, the daily death, starvation, displacement, and destruction of everything.
If all of Hamas was gone, some Palestinians will still exist, and what do you think their feelings will be toward Israel? So that is is the clue to the motivation behind what Israel is doing now. Hamas is little more than an excuse for perusing a “final solution.” The only “final solution” is to wipe out Palestine.
This is why all the cultural sites, hospitals, schools, mosques, farms, and living quarters are being targeted. This is why food is cut off. This is what Israel is doing. They tried putting Gaza into a prison perimeter, but some of them (Hamas) broke out and committed great evil. Prison didn’t work, so now they are trying to eliminate as many Palestinians as possible.
Drop a bomb on a gathering of Palestinian civilians, kill 30, then claim that there was one “Hamas suspect” among them. Nope. You are not fooling anyone.
An apartment building full of sleeping Palestinian families is a “legitimate” target if there is suspicion that a single fighter had gone in there. It’s all BS. And the entire pretext for this genocide is doomed to failure.
Netanyahu keeps stating that the war will continue until Israel’s goals are met. He means the destruction of Hamas. That is his excuse for continuing the genocidal slaughter, but it is his fear that if the invasion comes to an end, he will be ousted as President and also might go to prison for corruption. That is why he won’t negotiate in an honest way.
Palestinians are people just like you and me and our neighbors next door. (My neighbor here speaks Spanish, and they are good people.) Would you want your property destroyed, your land and house stolen? Would you want your family killed, your every move under surveillance?
Biden is doing this because he HAS to. He represents the US system, which is fundamentally an imperialist system. Israel is their attack dog in that region. It is their foothold of influence in a region where there are competitors coming from all directions. The killing of the Palestinian people is a trivial consideration when it comes to imperialist politics. That said, it may still cost Biden the election, as will his age. And a Trump Presidency would be catastrophic.
I could go on, because I can’t get Gaza out of my head. What Israel and US are doing is unforgivable. It is a disgrace. It is crimes against humanity. It is a stain on reputation of the US people. Most of us in this country would not in any way approve of this. Unfortunately, no one asked us. Our protests are being suppressed, and we can’t express our feelings with our votes. It makes me really sad.
