The Atlantic is a ostensibly non-partisan but liberal publication full of intelligent, well educated, erudite authors and factually-supported articles and considered opinions. I’ve tried to copy and paste below all the presidential politics postings to the Atlantic.com (paywall) since the first debate in chronological order (apologies for any errors, it’s hard on a phone).
They include a few Trump articles, all negative, and a vast majority, almost all negative, about Biden, and him leaving the race. I love the fact that Kos is a reality-based community. I am a liberal Democrat who has voted for every Democratic candidate since Carter and always will. I am not a troll or a plant. The only priority for this election has to be defeating Trump. It is an absolutely relevant and fair question to ask if Joe Biden is the best possible candidate. I say this with great appreciation of his many successes, and belief he is the best president of my life. I would love for him to be president next February. Unfortunately he probably won’t be. The job of presidential candidate is very different than the job of being president, and unfortunately Biden’s nature and skill set are a great fit for serving but Trumps are much better for campaigning, where reality, truth, character, and knowledge are overwhelmed by lies, entertainment, shock value, and novelty.
Peruse the list of articles below, and their blurbs. Understand they are from a liberal publication, and imagine what they are printing on the right. Try to believe we can win this without shaking up the race, with a new candidate. Obviously it all is Biden’s decision. Nobody wants this to go on, but the only way it truly stops is with change of candidate. He ran four years ago as “transitional”. The way it’s going, the next transition in back to Trump. But worse. Take a bow, Joe, and let us win.
