Disclaimer: This is intended to be a safe haven for Hillary Clinton supporters. While anyone can come and post here, we ask that any non-Clinton supporters be civil towards the rest of us, and we’ll do our best to reciprocate.
First, a belated word about safe spaces. The intent of this Open Thread was never to prevent anyone from posting, or to encourage “gang tackling” or group flagging of those who expressed a contrary opinion. It was intended to be a place where Hillary Clinton supporters (1) could get together and simply like Hillary as a group, which was a foreign concept at this site for a very long time, and (2) if Hillary supporters were frustrated about misrepresentations about Hillary, whether on this site or on the wider Internet, we could talk to each other about it rather than get into an argument in another diary and risk getting flagged.
When I first started doing weekend Open Threads back in January, there was nothing on the weekends for Hillary supporters apart from a few diaries on specific topics posted by brave individuals willing to risk the vitriol. Through much of the negative talk about Hillary Clinton, we could either grit our teeth and bear it, or avoid DailyKos altogether, which is tough when it becomes a daily habit. Now we’re lucky to have not only News & Views on the weekdays, but also daily open threads and a growing number of pro-Hillary diaries. It hasn’t always been easy to be a Hillary Clinton supporter (and during times like post-New Hampshire, when the media frequently insinuated that she was on track to lose again like in 2008, it was really, really hard). But it’s something I and most others have never regretted, and right now, things feel pretty great.
The intent of this space is still the same. It’s a place where people who like Hillary can gather and talk about how they like Hillary, and also about frustrations they’re having with representations of her in the media and elsewhere. It’s a place where we feel like we can express admiration without being automatically berated, or frustration without automatically being flagged. While I realize I can’t prevent anyone from challenging or flagging a comment, I hope those who are critical understand that by keeping frustrations limited to this space, we are trying to keep them out of other threads, and thus prevent more flame wars. At the same time, we shouldn’t use this space as a place to talk about other members behind their backs, or spread misrepresentations about Bernie.
That said, onward and upward!
If you haven’t done so, check out Lysis’s News & Views and the Hillary Writers Circle, along with the daily Hillary Hangout afternoon open threads and #ImWithHer evening open threads. Here are some new diaries.

NewsPhotosFeatures: Hillary Clinton reaches out to Bernie Sanders supporters after decisive New York primary win
Hillary is slowing things down and starting to prepare for the general election, which is great. Yet somehow, she and Bernie are still going to do yet another town hall before Tuesday’s primaries. I like town halls better than debates, but what are we going to learn? Will they finally talk about reproductive rights? Will Bernie’s tone be more conciliatory? Tune in and find out, I guess.
We knew that Hillary’s poll numbers looked strong in Tuesday states like Pennsylvania and Maryland, but surprisingly, they also look good in states like Indiana that were expected to favor Bernie:
Meanwhile, Friday was Earth Day, and Hillary Clinton was one of many to congratulate the United States on being one of the 175 countries to sign the Paris climate accord:
And finally, Hillary gets yet another food prepared in her honor:
The Democratic front-runner is scheduled to visit the community this week, and in honor of her arrival, Two Brothers Restaurant and Pizzeria have created a pizza just for her.
Apologies for this diary being a bit light. I’m still in the middle of “Oh my God, my life is drafting oppositions to motions about silly issues that the judge will ignore anyway, but I have to oppose them because two trials are approaching, blah, blah, blah.”
This is your open thread.
