See the Saturday Open Thread for any diaries missed.
Disclaimer: This is intended to be a safe haven for Hillary Clinton supporters. While anyone can come and post here, we ask that any non-Clinton supporters be civil towards the rest of us, and we’ll do our best to reciprocate.
Saturday was strangely anti-climactic. We knew going in that Hillary would win huge! in Louisiana, and Bernie would win Kansas and Nebraska, and they did. The only suspense was Bernie’s margin of victory, and in Nebraska at least, Hillary’s campaign was able to cut into it significantly. As a result, she’ll likely come away from this weekend with a wider delegate lead despite winning just one state.
The greater suspense appears to be on the Republican side for now. With Ted Cruz winning more states, it looks as though the Republican race could be a two-person one at long last, with the edge still going to Trump. It’s going to be entertaining… and scary.
On to some Saturday diaries:
CatM: Hillary Expands Her Delegate Lead with Louisiana Rout
First Amendment: Hillary Clinton Wins Louisiana Democratic Primary!
floridageorge: Hillary wins Louisiana. Huge lead. Likely to gain more delegates on the night.
Skywatch: Clinton Poised for Big Win in Michigan Primary!
DAISHI: People love them some Clinton, as the numbers show
Dave G: This is why the outrage over speaking fees doesn’t amount to a Hillary of beans
Economaniac: Why March 15 will ensure Hillary wins the nomination
Also, tonight is the seventh debate between the Democratic candidates, set in Flint, Michigan. It was Hillary Clinton’s pressure that made it happen, and hopefully it will continue to shine a spotlight on the water crisis. This evening, ofao should have an open thread for debate discussion. In honor of the debate, please consider making a donation to FlintKids.org, as well as to Hillary’s campaign fund.
Finally, once the March 15 hammer comes down, this site will become very interesting. Open threads came about because we wanted safe spaces away from the most vitriolic anti-Hillary diaries and users. Yet if Markos’s crackdown is effective, what’s left will be civilized, polite disagreement. In which case, will open threads have fulfilled their purpose, or will they evolve into something else?
This is your open thread.
