Thank you Mark for sharing this.
I was in tears before this tweet ended. At first I was overwhelmed by her personality. She is so smart, happy, kind and talented. Her joy is infectious.
There have been few images out of this whole god awful mess that elicited such emotion in me. And like a dam breaking, I started crying tears for all the other reasons we find this war so heartbreaking.
My granddaughter is about a year younger than this little angel. And that made me think of all the youth in Ukraine that have to live this nightmare.
I’m staunchly anti-war. And I’m adamantly pro democracy. So I cried some tears for the terrible decisions having to be made to defend freedom from indefensible murderous tyranny.
And now I’m crying tears for hope and happiness for the next generation that will have to use this saga as a means for becoming better people than the thugs who put them through this. My heart has never felt closer to the people of Ukraine than this morning.
Thanks for letting me get this out, DK.
