SC-04 (R): We finally have a result in South Carolina’s 4th district, and that seems like a good place to wrap up, as it's not clear how much more reporting Nevada is going to do tonight. Incumbent Republican Rep. William Timmons, facing a challenge from the right as well as battling infidelity allegations, has narrowly held, according to the AP, defeating state Rep. Adam Morgan 51.6-48.4 with 99% reporting.
And to recap other highlights from tonight:
In the Republican primary in similarly dark-red SC-03, over-the-top evangelical pastor Mark Burns and veteran Sheri Biggs will advance to a runoff. In SC-01, Republican (and alternatively moderate or hard-right and/or pro- or Never-Trump depending on what day it is) incumbent Rep. Nancy Mace surprisingly easily handled a primary challenge from Catherine Templeton; Mace will face off against Democrat Michael Moore in this borderline competitive district.
In ND-Gov, at-large Representative Kelly Armstrong easily dispatched Lt. governor Tammy Miller in the Republican primary. and will likely be the next governor of North Dakota. State public service commissioner Julie Fedorchak won the Republican ND-AL primary to replace Armstrong. Maybe the most interesting occurrence in North Dakota, though, is the victory of a ballot measure stating that congressional candidates over age 80 may not take office; this may become more momentous if appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, where it may be used as a stealth vehicle to allow similar state rules about federal officeholders, such as term limits.
In the special election in OH-06, Republican state Sen. Michael Rutti won as expected in a dark-red district, but with yet another strong Democratic special election overperformance, as Democratic candidate Michael Kripchak held Rutti to a victory of only around 9 points.
In NV-Sen, veteran Sam Brown will be the Republican nominee against Jacky Rosen in what will be a very competitive Senate race. In the trio of Las Vegas area light-blue Dem-held congressional districts, currently Michael Robertson leads the NV-01 Republican primary, Drew Johnson leads in NV-03, and John Lee leads in NV-04.
That is all for tonight; thanks for hanging out with us at Daily Kos Elections!
