The answer appears to be “Yes.”
Florida Atlantic University released a poll yesterday showing Mucarsel-Powell within 2 points (LV) or 4 points (RV) of Rick Scott.
That exact same poll in April showed Scott ahead by 17 points (LV) or 16 points (RV). See link below;
538 Polls Florida Senate General Election
Another poll out the last couple days (The Tyson Group) still shows Scott ahead by double-digits, but they’ve done no previous polls for this race so we can’t tell if there’s movement in their poll or not. Same goes with the other polls listed on 538, they’ve all only done one poll so far. The FAU poll is the only one with a history.
Given that democrats are certain to lose Manchin’s West Virginia seat, if democrats are to maintain their 1-seat majority they’ll need to pick off a GOP seat somewhere else (in addition to maintaining the seats in MT and OH). Rick Scott’s Florida seat is a good candidate.
In my fantasy I’d also like to see Ted Cruz’s and Josh Hawley’s seats picked off as well. Wouldn’t it be nice if democrats could get a 53-47 senate majority?
Link to FAU poll itself is here.
