I am a retired Florida State Probation and Parole Senior Supervisor and I’ve supervised convicted felons in my professional career for almost 30 years. In the State of Florida, convicted felons are not allowed to vote until their voting rights are restored.
I’m a candidate for State Representative and a resident of this State. In my view, the question that remains for me and many others is, why vote for a convicted felon to be President of the United States? Can you imagine a convicted felon giving orders to the Department of Justice, Homeland Security, Military, the FBI, and many other law enforcement agencies that are entrusted with upholding the law?
This would be the definition of a Banana Republic, if the American people elect a convicted felon for President. The United States would be the poster child for a Banana Republic and a laughingstock around the world.
The American people already witnessed this disaster first-hand from 2016-2020. We should have learned from that experience and stop acting as if they are suffering from a form of amnesia in this election year.
Not voting or using the method of writing in a candidate who is not on the ballot is like not voting at all. The voters through the primary have made their choices on their party nominations, therefore, it is now the responsibility of the voters to make this country a great nation. The choice is clear, a convicted felon should NOT be President.
Finally, Democrats need to rally around our nominee, President Biden, like what the Republicans did for their convicted felon and not divide the party. A divided party will not win. Democrats should stop talking about replacing this President who has done so much for this country. The primary voters have spoken.
