HR: You’re doing a great job. Exceeding expectations, to be honest.
Joe: Thank you!
HR: Unfortunately, we might have to let you go.
Joe: What? Why?
HR: You’re getting kinda old…and the guy who used to have your job wants it back.
Joe: You just said I was doing a great job! Besides, didn’t you fire the last guy?
HR: Yes, we had to fire him. He was terrible. He rarely worked, stole stuff and also tried to burn the place down after we let him go.
Joe: Why would you ever want him back?
HR: Coz we’re fucking crazy.

New in PN: "Pundits like stuff to happen, and Biden stepping down would be good copy. The media wants dramatic events. Choosing to stay the course feels boring and insufficiently proactive. But sometimes the best thing to do is to follow through."
From the article:
The pundit class needs to get a grip. Politics isn't fantasy football and there's no One Weird Trick to beat Trump. www.publicnotice.co/…
✂️
But amidst all the tearing of garments and vultures circling, the fact is that we’re still pretty much where we were pre-debate. There are two questions: Is Biden fit to serve? And, would Democrats benefit by forcing him off the ticket? The answers remain “he is” and “probably not.”
Its long, but a good read.

“I am running. I am the leader of the Democratic Party. No one is pushing me out. I’ve been knocked down before and counted out my whole life. When you get knocked down you get back up.”

The Supreme Court didn't simply say "all presidents have immunity." They said "ultimately, we will decide on a case by case basis which presidents have immunity for which actions."
So while it's nice to think about Joe Biden using his new immunity, I doubt the Supreme Court will let HIM have any.

UNSHELTERED HOMELESSNESS DROPS AND SHELTERED HOMELESSNESS RISES IN CITY AND COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES. www.lahsa.org/… (h/t avoicefromthemiddle).
✂️
This year’s Homeless Count results give me hope because they show that our unified approach and coordinated efforts have led to meaningful decreases in unsheltered homelessness,” said Dr. Va Lecia Adams Kellum, Chief Executive Officer of LAHSA. “One year is not enough to say we have turned the corner, but the numbers we are seeing are very encouraging. We must continue to work in collaboration on the life-saving efforts that are contributing to positive results.”
This year’s Homeless Count data suggests that unprecedented coordination among LAHSA and all levels of government on the homelessness crisis is reducing unsheltered homelessness.

Federal court orders state to redraw three legislative districts to reflect majority Black population. www.wlbt.com/…
On Tuesday, a three-judge panel in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi ruled that at least two state Senate districts and one state House district would have to be redrawn after judges determined the 2022 redistricting maps unlawfully diluted Black voting power.
The court also ruled that once the lines are redrawn, special elections would be needed in the new districts.
The ruling comes more than two years after the Republican-led House and Senate adopted the new district lines, and more than a year and a half after the NAACP and others filed a complaint under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.
