I didn’t see this on the site (except for me posting a couple of comments). [Note: And the AP story posted earlier, which was timelier than mine but obviously didn’t contain any personal diarist thoughts]. President Joe Biden, via the Biden For President campaign, sent an email to supporters a short while ago. The email, entitled “I’m running,” read, in part:
So, let me say this as clearly and simply as I can: I'm running.
I'm the Democratic Party’s nominee. No one is pushing me out. I'm not leaving, I'm in this race to the end, and WE are going to win this election.
The Democratic Party sent an email at about the same time, saying, in relevant part:
A short while ago, President Biden and Vice President Harris got on a campaign all-staff call and ended any speculation by the pundits about his future.
He's staying in. He is the leader of the Democratic Party.
If we're with him, not only is he going to win, but we are going to elect Democrats up and down the ballot this fall.
This is an all-hands-on-deck moment for Democrats. The outcome of the elections this November is something we all have a role in shaping.
So what do you say?
So, what do you say? I say, I’m very glad that President Biden is a fighter for us. Any other choice would have been a disaster for the Democrats. Now we need to fight for our nominee, our party, our country and our future!
