The Southern Poverty Law Center & the Right-Wing Watch Group have been especially busy this election cycle. But their tracking of white supremacists groups now featured in a new Trump campaign ad goes way back.
Rachel Maddow & Crew backtrack into the past on John Tanton’s, the featured group — C.I.S. Center for Immigration Studies
August 19, 2016:
Rachel Maddow reviews the history of some elitist, racist movements in the U.S. and the role of eugenicist John Tanton in those movements, and notes that his Center for Immigration Studies is cited Donald Trump's new campaign ad.
Rachel & her team cover a lot of old “conservative” movement ground so I’ll just leave it there... minus the cussing it took me to watch this garbage exposed here. Trump’s new GE ad citing CIS (Center for immigration Studies)
Meanwhile the GOP is straining to sever their ties to Trump and his white supremacist/ eugenics movement base, as if these kinds of “ideals” would be the last thing they’d ever embrace. Except there is a history of Sun Down Towns and segregationist White Citizen Councils as an active part of the GOP to this day.
As Rachel Maddow points out: Reagan/Pete Wilson — California used to be a red state — until the GOP decided on the Phyllis Schlafly/Paul Weyrich type of rabid anti-immigration/segregationist campaigns as their platform ...but “don’t call it eugenics” — John Tanton
