Yowza!
Newsweek’s cover story, written by Alexander Nazaryan, pulls no punches in describing the Grifter in Chief and his Sad Band of Thieves. The headline is:
Trump is Leading the Most Corrupt Administration in U.S. History, One of First-Class Kleptocrats
One of the sub-heads is:
Disgusting Displays of Wealth
Among those whose predations are discussed are:
- ex-Secretary of Veterans Affairs David J. Shulkin (for having the taxpayers pay for his wife’s junket, along with a six-person security detail);
- ex-Environmental Protection Agency Administrator, Scott Pruitt, for excessive air-travel bills and his infamous Cone of Silence;
- Secretary of the Treasury Steven T. Mnuchin and his trophy wife, Louise Linton, who took a government aircraft to go eclipse-chasing;
- Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, whose, “travel expenses that include a $12,375 chartered flight to Montana from Las Vegas, where he had attended an event for a hockey team owned by one of his benefactors”;
- Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, who, “has used government planes on at least seven occasions, according to The Washington Post, and who is also facing questions about her ownership of stock in Vulcan Materials, a building company that would likely benefit from a $1 trillion infrastructure plan Trump has touted”;
- Secretary of Ooops, Rick Perry, who has used private aircraft to visit a uranium facility and used a private airport that was a 45-minute drive from Kansas City International Airport;
- Secretary of Privatization of Education, Betsey DeVos, who uses U.S. Marshalls for security to the tune of $1 million per month; and
- ex-Secretary of Health and Inhumane Services Tom Price, who ran up a travel tab estimated at $1 million during his relatively brief tenure.
Trump himself is described as:
The Great Enabler.
