Anyone who watched Donald Trump’s “press conference” yesterday at the NATO summit received a rare treat: the spectacle of an American head of state revealed as an ignorant, rambling, and thoroughly incompetent buffoon.
And while Trump’s self-absorbed and incurious voting base back in this country were almost certainly indifferent to his cringeworthy performance among our NATO allies, those tasked with actually having to tolerate him in person are apparently privately trading guffaws about this embarrassment that Americans dumped into the global punch bowl.
London (CNN) World leaders at the
NATO summit in London were caught on camera appearing to joke about US President Donald Trump during a reception at Buckingham Palace Tuesday evening.
The video appears to show British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte having a laugh about Trump's behavior during the summit.
Here's a question for your Trump-supporting father-in-law: When was the last time an American president was openly mocked by our allies on the world stage?
The 25-second clip, which has gone viral and was
first reported by CBC, begins with Johnson asking Macron why he was late."Is that why you were late?" Johnson asked.
Macron nodded, as Trudeau replied, "He was late because he takes a ... 40-minute press conference at the top."

Other words were exchanged but could not be heard, before Trudeau added: “I just watched his team’s jaws drop to the floor.”
Watch it for yourself!
The knowing banter between them suggests that ridicule of Trump is so common now, that it’s mutually understood.
Remember that these are the U.S.’s friends. How do you suppose American enemies talk about Trump?
It’s hard to fathom the extent of the disgrace this man has brought to our country. But it appears one easy way to gauge it is to simply step outside our borders.
