Sen. Susan Collins has gone out of her way to join the deplorable team for her 2020 reelection campaign. The woman wrote a goddamned op-ed in The Washington Post in 2016 about "Why I cannot support Trump" and said he "does not reflect historical Republican values nor the inclusive approach to governing that is critical to healing the divisions in our country."
It's now 2019 and this is what's she's saying in a fundraising email: "Justice Kavanaugh went through a rigorous confirmation hearing and seven FBI background checks—scouring every aspect of his life," wrote Collins. "Rigorous," meaning all of five days. "Brett Kavanaugh, his wife, and his two daughters are on the verge of having to go through the pain of the confirmation process all over again," she laments. "The Far Left is so determined to further their political agenda, they won't hesitate to ruin someone's life in the process."
So much for inclusiveness, huh? In face, she attacks her fellow Democratic senators, Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris, for pushing for more investigation. "I refuse to stand by while they attack a decent man and his family for a second time," the email, signed by Collins, reads. "The Far Left won't stop attacking anyone they disagree with until they take back control of Washington."
And the bit about how a guy who is a sitting Supreme Court justice—FOR LIFE—is in danger of having his life ruined. HIS life. Christine Blasey Ford was forced to move multiple times as a result of physical threats, and death threats that required she get a security detail.
At one point, Collins would have pretended that she cared about Blasey Ford and all the women who risked so much to do what they felt was their civic duty and come forward to tell their stories. That's out the window now.
Collins attacking the "Far Left" means Collins has firmly placed herself in the Far Right.
Enough is enough. Please give $1 to help Democrats in each of these crucial Senate races, but especially the one in Maine!
