Here’s a fight that would change the conversation from the Biden debate debacle.
Given how out of line the current Supreme Court is, its majority chosen almost entirely by presidents who did not win a majority of votes, why not right-size it?
Rather than some complicated explanation justifying an arbitrary addition of justices, or try to hammer out some scheme involving terms and retirements, why not just cite the heavy workload, and add enough justices so that each federal circuit (there are 13) has an assigned justice?
It’s simple and quite justifiable in a “common sense” way. It would be motivating as heck.
