As much as I love to read all the regulars on the Kos, I also realize that a commitment to action to get Democrats elected in 2020 is paramount. Posting “Comments” is a momentary catharsis and break from rage snacking, but it doesn’t get people to the polls or help with voter registration. Perhaps you live in a blue district in a blue state but still want to help the folks on the ground in swing states? Here’s your chance!
Pod Save America recently announced a new project called ADOPT A STATE: what a great opportunity to be useful in a meaningful way. You can pick your favorite state to adopt and join up with progressive organizations, volunteers and Dems on the ground:
Introducing Adopt a State, our brand-new remote mobilization program that will help you directly support the work of organizers and candidates in the six key battleground states that will be most important to winning a progressive majority on Election Day—no matter where you live.
You can choose Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Michigan(my pick), Pennsylvania or Wisconsin. There will be four training sessions in June on Thursday evenings.
I don’t want to wake up on Election Day in November thinking I didn’t do enough to elect Democrats: let’s not forget that Michigan handed over 16 Electoral College votes to tRump even though he won by less than 11,000 votes. We can’t let that happen again.
