Not to be too naive here, but hasn't the United States government process strayed way too far from its original intent? First, they bend the rules so that the minority rules. Now, for the most important piece of legislation facing our country, our elected officials aren't on the floor of the Senate or House debating, arguing, giving their opinions and possible solutions. Instead, everything happens behind closed doors between two or three people -- usually Boehner, Reid, Cantor, Pelosi, and Obama.
I voted for Obama, so I'm glad he's involved. But there are 100 Senators and 435 House members who are supposed to be involved, too! They all need to get involved, get dirty, show some brain cells and a spine! I think Boehner's an idiot, so I really don't want him to have major input on this important legislation. But even if he were brilliant and I agreed with everything he said, there needs to be ideas and input from many elected officials. Get out there on CSPAN, people, and starting hammering out the details! Let us watch!
That's all I wanted to say.
