For those of us who live here, Georgia isn't the solid red state that everyone north of the Mason Dixon line likes to think it is.
First, there was a post by Chris which pointed out the underweighting of African American voters in recent Republican polling.
Now, the guys at Political Insider quote some "wonk at the Democratic Party" who says the same thing. When the poll is re-weighted giving African Americans a more realistic turn-out percentage George W. Bush dips below the 50 percent mark to 49.5 percent. Kerry nudges upwards to 45.5 percent.
Look, 2002 was a bad year. But to say it's evidence that the state is solidly red is just ignorant. Now get your ass down here Edwards!
