Pick your metaphor, but that's what the Obama camp has started.
I have (perhaps too much) trust in this Obama campaign. One of the things that attracts me to it is the non-anxious tone the pervades the campaign (a tone that comes from the top).
While McCain has been throwing everything up against the wall, I would argue that the Obama campaign is biding (Biden?) its time. There is a time and a place to strike. As of today the convention dust is settled and we are less than two weeks from the first debate.
In the past the conventional wisdom was that large segments of the population didn't really start paying attention to the election until after Labor Day. I think that date is forever moved back to September 11 as candidates will have a show a solidarity and then hit the trail for the final stretch.
Let's look at what the first two days after into this final stretch has brought from the Obama campaign.
