We're all expecting a speech for the ages, and I for one have few doubts he'll deliver just that. BUT win or lose tonight, there is one thing that is utterly certain: No one can ever say Obama lacks courage, None can fairly say after tonight that he ever takes the easy way out or backs down from a challenge.
consider the daring, the sheer audacity of what Obama is attempting tonight:
-Tonight is the 45th Anniversary of Dr. King's "I have a Dream " speech perhaps the greatest speech ever delivered by the greatest civil rights leader of the 20th century
-The last Presidential Candidate to accept his party's nomination in an Open air stadium was none other than John F. Kennedy himself
In other words, in an era when politicians try desperately to play the "expectation game", to bad mouth their own capabilities to the extent that they can proclaim a mediocre performance as a triumph; Obama is doing the exact opposite.
He is INVITING comparisons between himself and not just two towering leaders, but two of the greatest orators America has ever had.
BAWLS Ginormous Clanking Brass ones.
