After living in Virgina Beach for several years, my daughter, Miss WHo, decided to take a shot at living in NYC. For a farm girl like me, it sounded like moving to the moon. But she needed a little help, and that's what Mom's are for, so let's see how that move thing went....

I acquired my first copy of Tao Te Ching in a box of books from friends who were moving, back in the mid 70's. It was the Witter Bynner translation, and, in the pre-internet age, it never occurred to me that there were many other translations.

We sat on Route 81N from 9:30 pm to 2 am, backed up after a traffic accident. You haven't lived until you have been on a charter bus, backing up on a major interstate, squeezed between tracter trailers on one side, and a ditch on the other. Mr. WH used to drive big rigs, and I have a lot of respect for their driving skills, but still.... Enough about me! DC rally photos ahead!

"The unveiling happened today, because it is the 47th anniversary of William Moore’s murder. Moore, who was a former Marine and postal worker, was an outspoken advocate for civil rights. It was on his solo march to the governor's office in Mississippi that William Moore was gunned down by an unknown assailant along a remote road in Alabama. Moore's name is listed on the Civil Rights Memorial in Atlanta, Georgia."
