October 2005: Credit cards double minimum payments. My guess, 5% of the US will be unable to make the new payments without another interest-charging mortgage (effectively, slavery), significant standard-of-living reduction (Christmas is canceled), just flat-out the-bank-taking-the-house, or crime.
November 2005: People trying to file bankruptcy find out they can't, thanks to the changes to bankruptcy laws. Result: Wage slavery or crime.
December 2005: Businesses that rely on Christmas for their existence (such as Wal-Mart) post crippling losses, leading to massive unemployment.
