It’s been decided by Macy*s Corporate that this year, after 159 years, during a Depression, 2 World Wars, the Spanish Flu, the Terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, Superstorm Sandy and other National and Regional incidents, there will be no Santa Clause at any of their stores this coming Christmas Season.
i, and I’m sure many of you, find this very upsetting. Maybe your parents took you to visit Santa during the magical Christmas Season and you took your kids or are still taking them for an annual visit trip to to see Santa. Living in New York we got to take part in that Miracle at 34th Street when visiting their 34th Street Store.
Macy*s will have an interactive visual instead but the magic of visiting Santa and Toy Land.
All this is done, of course, due to the Coronavirus and to keep families safe.
There maybe Santa at your local mall because if it’s owned by Brookfield Properties who are the 2nd largest mall operator in the U.S. You’ll be able to see Santa from behind plexiglass, it won’t be the same but it will be safer.
Santa will still be at the Macy*s Thanksgivings Day Parade but the parade will look different also and be a television only presentation.
I hope Scrooge Trump is happy at what his mostly lack of taking the necessary steps to contain this Pandemic has done.
